Jim - those meme's are spot on. There was a time I used to fish 40+ weekends a year. Spent 60+ days a year on the boat. Good times and I miss those days. I think last year a did a whooping 12 days. I often wonder if I should just toss in the towel and give it up. It's hardly worth the expense. I keep hoping that will change but it never does.
The way those shipping companies work is a mystery but it's no wonder why it's so expensive to ship something. I've had stuff come from Cali and go to Chicago, Pasco, then finally to Tualatin. Why it didn't just get on a truck headed north on I-5 is beyond me.
Have a good day everyone.

The motto I have tried to live by for the last several years....
I'm gone fishing, I will be home in time to go hunting

Just got home from a Senate Education Committee hearing at the Crazy House in Salem. That would be the marble one with the big golden pioneer standing on the roof looking lost. We were there to sit in on and testify in front of the committee in support of Gun Safety Education in elementary school. Basically, stop, don't touch and go get an adult.
Hit Noah's flood rain fall on the way home from Salem. Wow! Everyone was slowing down to 20 to 25 with wipers on max speed. Quite a few were pulling off to the side of the road and stopping.
Stopped by the Astoria Repair Cafe this evening to have some mending done on a jacket and got volunteered for some other work it was a blast.
Getting a little concerned over the myriad of Gun Bills folks. Developing late last night in the State Senate on our Oregon gun bills is a chance, a possibility that "Gut and Stuff" may be in play. That is one of the dirtiest tricks on the books and about as close to tyrannical dictatorship as you can get. And there are also a ton of bills "hanging out" on the shelves in the Oregon House of Representatives that have not yet been scheduled either. They are definitely up to tricks and chicanery by waiting until the last second to post hearing notices.
A totally innocuous gun related bill currently scheduled for April 2nd requiring the State Police to report on Background Checks would be stripped of all language, or appended with a 1 hour or less public notice, to include the most radical of anti-gun rhetoric. They have until tomorrow night to post any notices of 1st committee action on any bills that have not had a hearing yet. If they don't update the Committee agenda in the Senate or post an Agenda for the house in the next 32 to 38 hours, I suspect the "Gut and Stuff" minimal notice (essentially no notice - no time to respond unless you live in Salem) will be in play. And it could be in play even then if they only post one bill.
Using the Gut and Stuff they don't have to provide more than an hour notice of amendment to an existing bill. It makes it impossible for people who live outside of Salem to get to the hearing. Even if they do get something posted by tomorrow night, they have now made it extremely difficult, if not impossible, for folks to make arrangement to get off work and get to the hearings. Multiply that exponentially for people from Southern, Central and Eastern Oregon. They have published that any verbal testimony will be limited to 2 minutes.
