It certainly will be! That is providing the Communist Peoples Socialist Republic of Portland does not get their legislators in Salem to ban us rural folks from having BBQ's. All that smoke you know...they are still trying to figure out how to put a carbon tax on our BBQ's.

Going to have to get the boat out and ready to sail around Devils Lake. I'm pretty sure the BBQ plans for the park by the Lake were set up deliberately with that in mind.
Got word from the RV dealer. Our brand new Lance 1062 camper has an "off line" date of March 27th. They think it will probably take 5 to 7 days after that for shipping into Salem where we will pick it up at.

New camper......... That will be a fabulous day.......
Warden is pumped on the camper. I told her the other day that I should go get the old camper loaded up and we should go camping.
She replied with "Spring Break - Yuk" and "We can wait for the new camper".
I think she is afraid we would do something to the old one that would detract - subtract from the trade in quote we got.
I don't think we'll be able to escape the Communist Peoples Social Republic of Portland either for a while. I guess we stand our ground for now. It will interesting to see how the 2nd Amendment Sanctuary proposal goes tomorrow at the County Commission. I would be ecstatic if it passed but not holding my breath.
Good news on the camper. I don't blame the Warden for not wanting to camp over spring break.
Rich - I got an email from Mary Starrett today saying she was all for it. I've not heard a thing from Olson or Kula. Olson, I really know nothing about. Kula, I wouldn't hold my breath. I've been acquainted with him and his wife for a number of years. They don't really think like the rest of us do.
I plan on being at the meeting tomorrow.
I'm ready for the weekend and I thinking of taking Sunday off from the part time job.

Jim, Linn County is the same way. Albany and Lebanon are full of people who work in Corvallis and Salem because it’s cheaper to live here.
They've changed tactics Evan. They aren't pushing for the initiative advisory's now. Instead they are wanting commissioners to pass an ordinance. That is what we are having a hearing on at the courthouse. These things have no real weight in law, but perhaps it will slap those demon-cratic legislators in the face hard enough to make them realize that they are creating a revolutionary mind set between rural and metro Oregon. The problem is that Yamhill County is turning into pretty much a bedroom community for the Metro area so we are getting a bunch of liberals in this county. I don't even really claim Yamhill County. Polk County is where I was raised, that is where the ranch and farm is and I'm only about a mile north of the county line.

Yeah I don't know where Kula stand on this either and yes, he's different. I know Olson pretty well and it will depend on the wind direction if you get my drift. LOL Feel free to speak for me since I'll be in a meeting regarding Mercury TMDL's with DEQ.
The only solace is at least we don't live in NZ. We're not that far behind however...
County Commission meeting did not go well and the ordinance was not passed. Mary Starrett got them to work on a resolution to send to the state but that was it.
Roughly 200 people there all in support of the ordinance, 5 or 6 against. Even with such tremendous with overwhelming support and testimony, two commissioners refused to vote for the ordinance. I've been acquainted Casey Kulla and his wife for a number of years. Now Commissioner Kulla is in over his head and seems to have little comprehension and demonstrates no skill set for the job. (Short version - he's in way over his head) Commissioner Starrett fought for us, but was out gunned., She did convince them to get a resolution put together to send to the state legislature in support of the 2nd Amendment.
