Way to rub it in retired guys.... Maybe someday I'll get there. Just got to keep plugging away I guess. Although yesterday I did interview for a job so I guess I'm not done yet.
In the meantime next week is conference week in Bend. We're going over a few days early and plan on touring the Host Factory Monday or Tuesday for kicks and a semi attempt to show the other half what some truck campers can be like. Unfortunately based on my tax return I just picked up, it will be a while before I can fork over those kind of dollars.
We just bought a Host Rainer Long Bed. It's at the dealer now, we will pick it up on the 27th. I wanted the Mammoth also but like Jim my wife wouldn't even consider buying an F550.
Good afternoon / evening Oregon and everyone everywhere else.
We were going to take the trailer as that's usually our MO but where we were going to stay was a no go so we are motel-ing it this trip. I'd much rather be in the RV but such is life.
The place you were going to stay wouldn't happen to be Tumalo? I think they are booked up through the end of the Century.
The Deschutes County Fair Grounds between Bend and Redmond has RV sites. Not sure what they charge.
Last year when we were trying to plan out our trip home from the GTG the first part of June, the only place we could find to stay anywhere near there was at Paulina Lake, which is a bit of a commute to Bend.
Not even trying to plan anything out for this year. When we leave the G2G we are just going to 'wing it' and fly by the seat of our pants.
Speaking of G2G, are you going to try and make it?
You probably already know this, but they do have the Newbery Volcano Center, The Lava Tube cave, Hornady in the Bend area.
We just bought a Host Rainer Long Bed.
The Rainier and the Cascade are both very nice campers. The only dealer we have anywhere near us didn't have anything Host except for the Mammoth to look at.
Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 40 and dry at the moment, but Wx guessers are calling for rain.
Heading off into town to meet with a couple of guys at Tommy's for breakfast and coffee and then off to the gun club for annual membership renewal, part 2.

The same thing we ran into, we had the Rainier made to order!
Good afternoon everyone. Another night of very little sleep last night. Mason had a good basketball game this morning, and I’ve spent the afternoon tearing carpet and drywall out of my parents’ family room.
Good afternoon Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Made it home just to have to turn around and head back to town.
Warden's iPhone 6 appears to have blown a gasket. It was still working but the case was all warped and distorted. Looks to me like one of those Battery melt downs - although it appears to still be fully functional. Now she has a new one and is fussing and fuming trying to get the apps back. Apparently ICloud backups aren't all they were cracked up to be.
My computer experience and training is of no help to her...I had no use for Apple and deliberately avoided learning anything about them.
That happened to my iPhone 5. Battery swelled and wouldn’t hold a charge but phone still functioned. I took it to an independent Apple repair place and they replaced it for $40.
I'm sure the battery swelling and getting hot enough to warp, but not melt the case, is the root of the problem here. Something is wrong with he ICloud automatic back up thing though. She is having to reinstall all her apps and some Kingdom is no longer a kingdom and she is not we are not happy campers. All the contacts / address book and that kind of thing is there but......
Me thinks it is going to be a very, very long - walk on egg shells - type of week.
