Evan, remind me next time your out this way and I'll let you try the CZ 75B.
Now make sure you go to an FFL dealer, pay his $25+ transfer fee, pay the $10 background check fee and then fill out the 4473 and (if all passes) have the dealer hand the gun off to Evan, after the dealer has made the proper log entries. After shooting, make sure you follow the same procedures to get your gun back from Evan.
Morning all. Wet night. Hope it's done as I'd like to stay dry at Goss Stadium this afternoon.
Jim - The folks at PME are pretty good. The company has changed hands a couple times over the last 6 or 7 years, the latest being 1-2 years ago. They are always behind us at the sportsmen show. At last years show I shared some beer with them after a crazy Saturday. The new owner said he owed me one. Sometimes that means something, sometimes not. Come to june/july, I was ready to install the autopilot I've had for a couple years. One problem, the throttle actuator and hydraulic piston mount was for a Yamaha and I have a Honda ( Bought it for a boat I didn't keep very long). I went down to PME and asked if we could just swap brand new Yamaha stuff for a Honda. No problem. That beer was well spent.
I see some springers have been caught on the CR. I need to think about getting the boat prep'ed, pre-flighted, and rigged...
Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 38 clear and sunny. Big marine layer is lifting
Jen is who I dealt with for the most part at PME. Very nice young lady and very friendly. She thought she had found the unit I wanted in their upstairs storage, but while it was the same unit, it didn't have the chip in it. She's got one on order for me and will ship down to me so I don't have to make another trip up there..
Turned out she had a diabetic dog like we do. Hers is gone now, but we had a good exchange on what she learned to help save a little money in the dogs car and upkeep.
There was an older fellow there moving boats around with the fork lift. And, wow, did they have a lot full of boats. There was only about 20' of open space in the middle of the driveway on the entire property and he told me to park in it. It was like a hole bunch of cave dwellers stuck their heads out of the cave, saw the sun, and swarmed the place with their toys.
There were also a two guys that showed up to take a look at their boats and motors. Turns out they had a freeze problem like I had...We talked about going to a local pub and crying over a beer, but then we all decided all the beer money was being spent on fixing the motors, had a good laugh amongst the tears and let it go at that.....
I haven't fished the CR for a few years now. Went up there and it took 3 hours to get the boat in the water and there were knot heads standing around swearing at everyone for taking too much time to launch their boats. My boat won't be ready for Springers this year. Other than plugging the batteries in, it is ready to go on the water, but I've got to get at least 10 hours of frog water break in time on the new motor before I put it on water that can easily get one into trouble if the motor decides it doesn't want to work.
