I’ll probably pickup a new pump but the e350 diesel pulley is discontinued.

Is the 05-07 steering box is a direct swap? Drill out the frame holes for the bigger bolts? Use the stock OBS steering box arm?

As far a mounting box yes just drilling out holes to a larger diameter. Lines are different I believe steering shaft bolts right up though. Pitman will not swap at all it’s strictly a mod to go along with my 05-07 axles and it’s a heavier built box. As for pump flow numbers I do not know to be honest. My current pump is definitely on its way out and from what I’ve researched in forms the newer style pump is more reliable and better setup. But we will see I’ll keep you guys posted on the swap and let you know how it turns out.

Well I ordered a moroso pan gasket and new coolant tank and melling lpop. Along with a dipstick adapter and motorcraft glow plugs. Next month I’m gonna keep going down the list and ordering stuff.

Okay guys I know this thread has bounced around a lot. With this build it’s just I’m trying to do this as money allows. And these builds tend to get expensive. First off I’ve really been considering a stage 2 colt cam for this build. Here’s my question though my used replacement engine what would be required to check valve clearance. Or am I wasting time considering a cam for this build thanks for responses in advance guys

Ended up trading my 35/12.50/20 and wheels for another set of 20in wheels. With smaller tires a 305/50/20 which is around a 32.3/12.50 pulled my leveling kit off. And wow what a difference I still need to rebuild frontend but truck drives better egts are atleast 200 degrees lower across the board and trans seems much happier. All honestly I wish I’d never went to the 35s but that’s water under the bridge. I’ll post pics later tires aren’t my favorite design but will do for now.

Another update on going to smaller tires. Truck is still doing good but I’ve noticed around 66-70 i have what feels like a driveline vibration. Reason I believe this is because I had previously thought it was rearend related. With 35s 60 was 65ish and 65 was 70ish so I never really went that speed except on interstate passing people. But now that my speedometer is pretty well accurate I notice it more and have narrowed it down. To I believe the rear drive shafts I’ve checked rearend over multiple times pinion angle is good. All ujoints are good including carrier bearing. Has anyone experienced anything similar or has delt with unbalanced drive shafts.
The plan is to most likely go to Sd rear drive shafts unless the cost to have a set lengthend or shortened cost is to high. All opinions welcome or advice plan on digging threw my drive shafts this weekend and contacting local driveline shop next week.

Shafts out of phase I have dealt with before, okay at low speeds...freeway at 70? Car was about to fly apart.

Worth a quick peek.

I have experienced similar on old 6.4 with tires. Went to true 35. EGTs went up. Truck was slower. Economy was down. Back to stock 275/65R20? All my issues vanished.

At 70 mph yes feels horrible low speeds hardly noticeable. And yes it’s like driving a totally different truck now with almost stock height tire.

Smaller tires are never a bad idea for better ride and performance.

Put it on jack stands and drop it in gear to watch the shaft for movement. I once had a similar deal and it ended up being a bent pinion shaft. But still you might find something out of whack.

The pinion shaft maybe possibly as several years ago I had a situation with bad pinion angle. Which resulted in me busting the rear yoke tabs off and losing the rear drive shaft. Which has all been replaced since then. And pinion angle is correct now but I believe this issue has come about in last 15,000 miles. And that happened around 25,000 miles ago I believe. But I’ll definitely be trying that this weekend to.
