Okay guys have truck all tore apart and everything cleaned up and ready to go back together.
But on another note I’ve been looking at parts and saving my money for my other engine and I’m really stumped on either going with 160/100 or jumping to 238/100 either one I’d be going t4. I was originally thinking a s369sxe but I’ve read mixed reviews on running that turbo with 238/100 what do you guys think. All advice welcome and very much appreciated
Well finally got some wrenching done on my truck today got intake plenums resealed yesterday and lpop seal done today. Got a little leak on trans pan and the dipstick adapter seeps gonna try to reseal those in morning. Hopefully I can get everything lined out on it this week ready to go back to driving it.
Also discovered that even though I changed them because of it I still had some peace’s of plastic bags stuck in top of my pre filter. Should have changed them again some one filled my fuel tank with plastic bags last summer.
Well ran it down the road today definitely runs better but won’t really know till I get to drive it for a while still half to put the frontend back together. Got the fuel system swapped out looks much better filters are definitely tucked up much safer. I’ll let you guys know more when I know more.
Well guys got the truck all back together definitely seems to be running better. Has way more power egts are way cooler definitely less smoke. Still have a tiny drip from dipstick adapter going to pull the starter carefully attempt to silicone it up next week and change the oil if it’s fixed or atleast slowed down.
well before I ended up parking my truck it had been bairly wanting to start after sitting a while like batteries where dead. You can’t leave the key on acsessorie very long and listen to the radio or it will drain the batteries. So i cleaned all connections and really didn’t help much just figured it was time for new batteries. The current set are from fall 2015 so i just figured I got a decent life out of them. Before putting them back in the truck I charged them individually on a low amperage over night. Trucks been starting decent and I even played radio other evening for good while without truck running. Still takes what seems like forever for voltage to come up on the volt meter. Alternator isn’t very old it’s just a replacement from autozone it’s not a reman. Cables have all had cable lugs soldered on and military ends on them. Here’s where I get to actual question how hard is it to swap a ambulance 215amp alternator on. I do have a amp and sub setup have light bar mounted in my bumper and one underneath. Along with I also have efuel so I was thinking a alternator upgrade would be a next good upgrade. I also plan on adding some other electronics in the future. So any advice or opinions or insight on what is required for the swap would be great.
Well guys it’s been a little bit since I’ve been on here have been busy with work and stuff. I’ve been able to put a few a miles on my truck since putting it back together. Picked up a couple more parts trucks recently got a 96 single cab with a low mileage crate engine in it frame is eaten up with rust. Strictly a parts truck also picked up a wrecked 92 F350 with a 60 under it for reasonable to. Used my truck to pickup the 96 drove around 500 miles round trip no issues. On another note though I was making measurements the other day and I believe I can swap in a set of sd rear drive shaft with minimal effort. But I’d like to also run a sd front shaft but being that my truck is a 96 with a 4407 tcase that may be interesting. I did stumble across some forms on the internet saying that high angle driveline could make this flange has anyone had any experience with them. All advice is welcome thanks in advance.
