Good morning Oregon, hope you had a great weekend! Spring has finally arrived here, should be in the 60's all week! Bringing the 67 home from hibernation this afternoon.
Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. We're just getting back from the Lake. Sent the son and granddaughter and the car home Sunday and we stayed on for an extra day of R&R.
Weather was excellent, water was cold and plentiful and the fishing was pretty darn fine. We all had lots of fun.
Sometime this afternoon I'll need to do some cleaning on the camper and the boat, get them put away and think about getting some yard work done. When #1 son got home Sunday, he demo'd some old fence and an old shed so there is that to deal with as well. All the debris will have to get loaded on the pickup and hauled out to the farm to the burn pile.
Looked like a good uncrowded time! Catch any koke's? I spent the weekend building fence. Some water therapy would sure be nice...
Did get my boat back last night from the top shop. The guy did a good job and the cost was more than reasonable.
We didn't target Kokes on this trip. A couple we talked to did real well, several others were all complaining about how slow it was or "no fish in 3 days". The "fleet" (as small as it was) appeared to be primarily working from the Santiam side mid island downstream to the end of the island both still fishing and trolling. Spent over an hour talking with Casey (OSP F&W Division) on Friday and he hadn't seen very many fish at all. We did great on Rainbows and Skimr seemed to do just fine on Kokes earlier in the week.
We took the granddaughter up to a Rainbow hole I've fished for years and limited out in about 2 hours of not trying very hard power bait fishing.
I didn't see anyone trolling down towards the dam. Took the trolling gear up to camp and left it there. Didn't see a single fish caught from the fishing peer in the F loop. I wasn't painting much of anything in that area on the Sonar.
That is a fine heavy looking cover there. I may have to get the name and address from you. I'm pretty good on canvas at the moment, but I'm not liking my travel cover very well and may look to doing something else. The high rails in the front make it kind of problematic.
