Mornin' all. 1.5" of snow at our place but not much in the low lands where town is. Home sure looked nice when I left. I really like the snow and wish it would snow more in quantity and more often.
Jim - sorry to hear about your troubles. When it rains it pours I guess. What a headache. Makes a guy wonder what insurance is for. Will your insurance cover it and then the companies can fight it out? On the bright side Tony will take care of you and get you a tranny that will last. He's been my go to guy also. I ended up selling the 2000 before she needed bulletproofing. Tony kept that junk 4R100 going for 176K miles. Hope today is better!
Belated good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Dusting of snow here and its up to 35 now. Only a half inch on the roof of the cars.
Tony will take care of you and get you a tranny that will last.
Yep. I've been sending people to Don and Tony for many years. Don sold out (2016) and is 'retired' now, but I would argue with anyone that says Tony isn't the best Transmission man on the West Coast, if not in the country.
Not the right kind of insurance on the camper, so I guess we are on our own. When we got the new to us camper last summer and put the Lance on consignment, I switched all the insurance to the new one and left just the minimum on the Lance. As such, if would have been sitting on the Pickup, it would have been covered under a rider. Off the pickup, no coverage for comprehensive, i.e., fire started by something or someone else not attached to the camper.
Going to find an attorney today. I have one phone number left to call and if that doesn't work, I'll call OSBAR and get a referral I guess. Seems like everyone has gone to ambulance chasing, criminal defense or family law these days.
I was going to suggest a couple of attorneys but as you say, they don't seem to do what you need. Probably find someone in Salem or the the Portland Metro area. Hope you get it worked out. I guess I shouldn't be surprised the truck insurer nor the RV lot is stepping up...
I was hoping to avoid having to go to Salem or Portland, but you are right it might be what we have to do. A lot of the attorney's I know from my Police career are retired, or judges no longer with an active practice. Since anything that goes on with this, should it have to go to court, would go to court here in Yamhill County, I was hoping to find a replacement in Mac or Newberg to cut down on charges for 'travel time'.
I've got a message out to an old buddy and partner of mine from Mac PD, and I can stop by to talk to a couple other of the old crew when I get to town later today. I'll make the next choice after I hear back from him.
I was so hoping to avoid all of this...and to add insult to injury - and to rub salt into an open wound the RV lot we were starting to deal with just before the RV show, called a bit ago and offered us an even better deal (took another $1500 off the sticker price) of the 1062 camper we had been talking to them about.
Like I told them, "A bird in the hand is better that two in the bush" and I'm not going to replace our good one with one + financing chain to pay off.
Good evening Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Lost our cloud cover and now 13° in the last little bit. 30 here in the river bottom and 1800' up the hill above us it is 24. Been holding up there at 24 for a while up there.

Rezvani's Latest Post-Apocalyptic Monster Is a Ford F-150 Raptor Underneath
Good frozen morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Started out at 17°, clear and well frosted. Suns out, blue skies and we are now having a heat wave at 18°!
Not sure if it was a tribal thing or if the she was conditioning for soccer, but the 16 year old girl across the road took off out of the house at a dead run this morning, bare footed, pajama bottoms and just a bra on. Ran down the road as fast as she could, turned around, ran back to the house and through the front door. Nobody chasing her so I didn't have to shoot anyone...by the time she got back to the house she had her arms wrapped around her like maybe the 17° was a bit chillier than she was expecting?
That's what I get for taking the garbage out a 0600 I guess. Maybe I need to start paying more attention to what is going on around here...either that or its time to eliminate my sister so I can move back to the farm.
