Good morning everyone. Jackie is still feeling pretty awful from the pregnancy stuff, but I did get her some of her favorite chocolate treats and a nice card.
I should have figured it was River Wild. Duh! Your on line handle is kind of dead give away when one stops to think about it. I just wasn't making the jump or the association, Mac to Grants Pass.
No, we didn't make it up to that show. My fishing/hunting partner and his wife went on the opening day. He said that it didn't seem to be up to par of past years. Something was missing and he said he couldn't put his finger on what it was.
We went to the RV Show in Salem. Free Parking.
Probably as much ground space taken up to walk, but it was all RV's. We had free tickets courtesy of a dealership. That 'newer' (new to us) camper deal has fallen through for now due to the fire. We'll have to wait for settlements and in the meantime a reevaluation of exactly what we want to do or where we want to go with that idea.
We did see some fantastic mark downs for show prices there. The only outfit to have slide in campers though was the one I got the tickets from and they only brought the brand new 2018 Lance's. Still too much money and of course the two I like are really beyond the limits of what the pickup will handle, especially with the boat.
I think I found a replacement for a boat mechanic on 9th St in West Salem should you have something you can't or just don't want to handle. Pretty early to say for sure, but I took our boat over to them to remount the kicker motor plate lower where the long shaft would actually be long enough to get into the water.
Decided to have them do a complete service on it, more as an experiment than anything else. Dropped it off around noon. The next morning at 0900 they called and said it was ready. I couldn't believe the short turn around time. Too early to judge quality, but from what I saw there and what I saw them do with the kicker, I don't think I have anything to worry about.
Wife and I did the fall RV show in Salem. Free tickets and free parking for us too! Few months later we were the proud owner of a new to us house on wheels....
Keep me posted on the boat mech. Would be nice to have one closer to home if needed.
Good evening Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Had to go to the VA in Portland this morning for a continuing follow up exam. All is good and the Doc is happy. Doc said they are considering me one of their success stories.
Left the VA and went to Cabela's. Sent the .380 I got my wife back to S&W to get it worked on. Laser bounces all over from shot to shot giving us 12 to 16" spreads at 15'. Totally unacceptable.
Got her a big tin of fudge for Valentines Day and even let her pick out the flavors of fudge.
Then tonight she wanted to go out to the Cedar Plank Buffet for dinner and see a bunch of old friends. So we did. Prime Rib, Salmon cooked on a cedar board, steamed and fried shrimp, oysters, butter clams, Mountain Huckleberry Ice Cream...now I need to go back to the Hospital for a stomach pump.
Morning Pat, and all to follow. 32 and had to scrape the windshield. Dropped off the taxes with the accountant yesterday, now the emails volleying should begin. She always has more questions.
Jim, I’ll need to take Jackie’s .380 our and see if hers does that. Last time it seemed to stay zeroed just fine. I shot toghter groups with that than I did with my M&P 9C.
Belated good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Been in and out working on a project this morning.
Evan, the laser was loose inside the housing. I knew there was a problem the second I tried to adjust the POI on it. When I stripped it down, I could see it was improperly mounted. Put it back together and wasn't going to screw with anything that might mess with the warranty.
The fellow at Cabela's did the same thing. Put it back together, put it in the box and sent it off to Smith. Other than a typical trigger pull that I hate...it is a tight group shooter with the iron sights at 15 feet. Haven't really tried it at 50' or 25 yards, but then those guns aren't particularly made for shooting at those distances.
