I decided to refinish the stock on my first rifle I got when I was 5. It’s also the first one Mason ever shot. Lots of sanding, and a darker stain. I’ll finish it off with some semi-gloss poly.
50 degrees here today......worked outside in my shirtsleeves.
I haven't had a good last couple of weeks..........had 3 different sets of family members take advantage of me to the tune of almost $8000.00......such fun.
Evening Evan and the stock looks good
And for future reference use an iron and wet towel you can steam dents out of wood.
No dents in it. Mostly just scratches through the top coat and some rubbed down spots. I just wanted to sand all the old finish off so that the new stain would go on nice. It didn’t turn out too bad. I like the darker stain better than how it came. It’s just a little Canadian made bolt action with a 10 round magazine. Great beginner rifle. I don’t even know how many thousands of rounds I put through it in my childhood exploring different parts of Oregon.
