Good evening Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Long day that didn't go so well.
Finally got a hold of the insurance company for the Dodge pickup. The adjuster hadn't contacted me because they felt no need to return my phone calls. Seemed upset I even had her name and number.
They are denying any liability on the part of their insured. If it was arson, they are not responsible for what the arsonist did, if it turns out their client lit the fire, that is a criminal act and they are not responsible. If it turns out to be electrical or a mechanical malfunction - Dodge's problem and they are not responsible. Yep! This is going to get down right interesting and fun! I think the loose translation is 'go away and don't bother us peon'.
Went to contact our attorney...he is retiring, not taking any new cases and leaves for Arizona as a 'snow bird' a week from this Friday.
I had dropped the pickup off to get a fluid change and health check on the tranny this morning. Tony called me and told me the magnet had a lot of sludge on it. Stopped by and sure enough, the magnet was completely covered with a metallic muddy sludge. If that had been one of the magnet Chip detectors in an engine on the aircraft I was and F/E on, I would have put it hard down with a big red flag instantly.
Tony is going to have his crew tear into it and then he is going to personally inspect it. Told me they should have it done in 3 or 4 days and he will make sure it is 'bullet' proof because he knows we tow hard and heavy.
I'm doing my worst at keeping him cornered over here so go for it, but hurry. I'm not sure how long I can keep him here and he is telling me he brought a couple of brothers with him this time and I don't know where they are.
Happy Friday eve. 30 with 5 inches of snow at the compound with close to white out conditions. Sweet Home only has about 2 to 3 inches. Started sliding once in 4-wheel drive high but got it corrected before I hit the sidewalk.
Not bad bought Match last year at $8 in the $40 now and climbing. SLV I trade short term as silver goes up and down all the time. The other is a long term hold for me right now. I play with about 50 stocks on and off last year my return was just under 35%.
Morning Andy, Pat and those to follow.
We have about an 1.5" of snow here. Every school district I have to drive through today is at least two hours late today. Could be a fun 200 miles round-trip day.
