the ones in the pictures is from doing the ice after filling the cups with drinks... the sugars grow the molds and mildew.. you can see the different colored stains left behind from the splash back... thats why you should always do the ice before filling the cups... also commercially they get used more frequently than your in home ones... which keeps them wet longer than your in home ones...
You don't need sugars. The stuff grows quite well on diet also. And it is always in the water path and never in the sirup path.

true.. mold will grow anywhere that moisture is persistent... especially when its insulated from being able to dry out... but in the commercial dispensers since theyre used frequently throughout the work days tend to not dry out... add to that the splash backs from filling the cups with ice after they were filled with soft drinks gives the bacteria additional foods to feed from... the sugars in soft drinks when they splash back into the ice dispensers aid as a growth medium... (and if you dont clean those syrup lines frequently enough they will also grow mold and bacteria inside of them.. your in home ice dispensers (unless your using it constantly throughout the day...) tend to dry out between uses... atleast the outside portion of the dispenser doors do like pictured above in jacks post.. (the inside depends on how well your dispenser door seals when the doors closes)..
thats why you can make simple growth cultures using Water, Sugar, and gelatin mix... the sugar in the molds give the bacteria something to feed off of to grow the culture....
All I know is I'll be stringing about 50' of quarter inch tubing around the garage later this week Decided to take the line up high and avoid anything that could pinch it...
And Jack: I looked in and around my ice bin and dispenser and it's pretty spic and span -- now the walls and windows that leak, well we run fans when it rains, to keep the mold at bay....
That's cool. At least you checked it. As I said, I was surprised when I found a little in mine, but we've had the refrigerator a long time. Les often pulls everything out and cleans it, but we've never looked closely at the ice maker until the subject came up about sensitivities. Actually, I looked and cleaned. I never told her about what I did because we'd be owning at a new ref.
I’m guessing speed reduction. I swear to god township engineers have to be the lowest in their class. The road transverses three developments and tends to get 40-45mph traffic on its 25mph limit. It should be a 35mph road.
These curve bulges are going to get hit at night, or at least drive vehicles into oncoming traffic. And be a pita when snow plowing. The ironic thing is the worst offenders for speed are the town refuse trucks going through. With the developments and other areas northeast, they take this road.
Trash trucks are always late.
The one to used to stop in next door and visit his lady friend for lunch is one of them.
I think that ended the day his wife showed up and went into a rage. The lady friend
packed up and moved that week. Did not even let the owner know she was bailing out.
No stops at those locations, unless they are going to change that. The buses will transfer within the side roads. Which brings up the points, buses, refuse trucks, and fire truck (station on the road) traverse that road and will have to navigate. All bump-outs are at T intersections. Along with the bulges they put down the white lines, so now the "lane" is really narrow. It's pretty damn tight at the "bump" (said with an Inspector Clouseau Pink Panther accent) for two cars, nuts for a car and truck in opposition.
It will be interesting.
Edit, I just replaced the video and at 0:25 you can hear me say under my breath, "God, this is stupid".
You'll be getting as bad as Europe soon. We have these all over the place, various designs and usually limited usefulness. In my view, if the speed is always too high put a permanent speed trap there. Everyone gets to know about it and the speed drops.
Some of those traffic calming devices (as they call them here) get well trashed when the trucks clip them. No wonder taxes are so high.
I was thinking last night mentioning they instead could have had a permanent revenue source. No one goes 25mph on that road.
I can’t see how they are not going to get clipped by trucks and buses. It’s such a tight weave that a long wheelbase vehicle will not be able to stay in lane. Is it normal for vehicles to show and possibly hesitate to proceed through?
