I direct soldered the adapter to the LED strip lights after cutting the wire 10" long. I shrink wrapped each positive & negative connection, then used a larger shrink wrap over the two individual wires. I then followed that up with the ultimate in self sealing silicone tape. I use this tape for all outdoor weatherproof connections for security camera installs.
Is there a chance that the wires on the frame are for the power running boards and they are just not used for those of us that have fixed running boards?
My 2018 F350 Platinum has power running boards and these connectors. I will be using the connectors to add undercab lights to my truck.
Anybody know what the molex part number is for a more oem connector? After having this installed for a couple years the metra connector is starting to come loose because it doesn’t use the locking tab on the factory connector.
For those who did this and wanted to run another led off that circuit, the following part numbers marry up to the speaker wire kit 72-5600. I am going to splice two female plugs like the one coming from the truck to 1 male connector so I can use the same circuit for my existing running board lights and my new led light up door sill.
