Running board lights

I'm about to start a running board light project, and was curious if you guys know if any plug or wire that is easily accessible to tap into to have them come on when the doors are opened, or when the unlock on the remote is pressed, just like all of the other exterior lights.

I found this thread about 2013's, where they mentioned on their Lariat (or above I assume) there was a wiring plug underneath each rear door.

Do you know if we have anything like this easily accessible on our 2017's? I have an XLT premium, but doubt the premium added many extra wires like this.

My 2012 XLT has the plug, not sure if the 2017s still have the same one, still waiting for mine to come in.

Could you snap a pic of quick video of location on 2017? I'm underneath right now and don't see it

My XLT have the plugs. Tapped them for the LED strips I mounted for step lights. They are on all XLT and above trim levels. My father in laws XL doesn't have them.

Could you post a pic or video to show where they are located? Is your truck a 2017? Thanks!

Just saw your signature is a 2017. Pics or video would be greatly appreciated. I spent 15 mins on my back in the driveway with flashlight looking on the inside and outside of the frame with no luck.

It may be worth noting I have the FX4 with the skid plates, would they possibly be covering it?

There is the grey holder right underneath the rear corner of the cab. Outside frame rail.

Hmmmmmm, strange. I don't have the premium package, so you'd think my truck wouldn't have them. My 2010 F250 Lariat had them as did several of my friends. Only trim level I did not find them on was the XL.

Any other special packages you have? I couldn't imagine what on a f250 xlt would remove this or add this. I have camper package, FX4, and upfitter switches. Nothing else really to mention. I could post my window sticker to compare...

Nope, it's actually a really bland version of the XLT. I do have upfitter switches and factory security, and the third brake light mounted back up camera. Sorry, I know I'm not much help.
