i understand the snow problem myself we just got 6 inches last night. I'm a patient guy so if you can and when you can that would be great. If I have to tap into done light fuse that might work but kinda hoping I can just plug a harness in
I would also be interested in finding out where I could tap into the dome light wires. I have the xlt fx4 package and it did not come with the plug in clips either.
Thanks to this post I am going to run some kind of running board lights. I have a 2017 F350DRW and found the wiring both sides. Tested and power on when doors open.
Not clear on were to get a factory type plug to plug into existing wiring harness? Or what lights to buy that hold up. Thank you all!
I used the connectors above and these lights, I was actually inpressed with the quality and water proofing of the lights. Installed them today, will try to post a picture of them on at night later.
I ordered 12 of the blue ones, 6 for each side. These came all connected together, so I cut the string into two 6-LED pieces.
I didn't feel the running boards needed any more light, but thought some under-glow would look kinda cool, and it turns off with the puddle lights.
After mounting, I realize there is room for 9 or 10 when I ended up mounting them, so I'm going to add 3 more on each side. This is the strip, connected to the plug ordered to match up with the existing frame connector.
The connector is soldered, with heat shrink tubing at the connections. Split loom was added on the feed end to make it look "finished": Before plugging in, I put some dielectric grease in the connector. Once everything was mounted, I sealed the end of the split loom at the connector with clear silicone.
I couldn't find a good place to mount the lights on the lower edge of the cab, so I put them on the bottom of the frame. With the design of the lights, they shine straight down and are not visible from the side of the truck.
The floor in my garage is hard troweled, so the is a lot of reflection, but I think it looks pretty good on a Blue Jeans truck.
This is the strip, connected to the plug ordered to match up with the existing frame connector.
Wear did you get the plug to match frame connector? Part number? from ford? Thanks
Can somebody please show a pic of where the plugs wire comes from. I don't have the plugs so I want to see it I can splice in where they come from. Please
