I hope everyone is staying cool. I went outside a few minutes to clean the smoker from Wednesdays cook so it will be ready for the next time. There wasn't a dry stitch of clothes on me when I finished. I came in, got a shower, and now I'm enjoying a few cold ones.
Bob, we miss you brother. Give your family our best wishes!!!
Can't wait for the fall fling. For the folks who haven't planned on coming yet, there's plenty of time to prepare so start packing.
Sure am... Moonshiner was a blast nice riding. Pushed some car from Flordia down one of the mountains at 10mph tell they finally pulled off.
Today we rode down 276 and stopped just south of Sliding rock for a cool swim. Then on into Brevard for lunch and back up 215 then back to the cabin. Setting at about 1530 miles since we left home Saturday.
Tomorrow morning we head back home, roughly 430 miles there.
1955 miles from the time I left the driveway, to when I just parked it. Took the small stack of tools for show, but never had to touch them.
Knocked out a bunch of curves this week in NC, TN, SC, and GA.
Tail of the dragon 129- 3 times
Hell Bender 28- 3 times
Moonshiner 28
The Rattler 209
276 and 215
Aswell as a ton of un named back roads, some that all of a sudden turned into rock roads with no warning.
Trip just like in a old truck that's not got a display, has 2 separate counters. I always reset my trip because my fuel gauge doesn't work, I most of the time run until I hit reserve but it's nice to have a general idea of when that is gonna happen.

I do the same thing on my work truck so I have an idea when I need to look for a truck stop that takes the Co. fuel card. That is if the home base pump is not working.
On my DD I use it for MPG and just need the gal when I fill, little less math that way.

ahh... ive wanted to get a motor tykle... but havent yet... how hard is it to get a license in NC??
Go down to the DMV take a 25 question test, pass that and get a permit. Permit is good for 1 year, and you can get 1 6 month extension. You don't have to have the permit any certain amount of time. When you're comfortable make a appointment with DMV and ride the bike down to take the skills test.
here you have to take the test.. get the LP.. then you gotta gotta go to driving school to learn skillz.. then when you graduate they put a sticker on it to say your allowed to operate the bike on the street... when your license is renewed they just put the endorcement on there..
Spent pretty much the whole weekend on the water. Either on a boat, beach or pier. Finally got a weekend where every time I tried to work fun got in the way. It was real nice.
Used to you could take the written test, then a riders course and get the license. Now the course doesn't replace the road test. I've kept my endorsement so I'm good to go.
Well the weekend was busy, had a few things happen. One was picking up a new project\toy in the shape of a gas golf cart. Of course it doesn't run, but the price was great. A carb rebuild should see it right, I am thinking. At least it turns over.
Got a stereo put in the old jeep so I can finally have some tunes while being beat to death riding around. But is sure is nice to drive that thing topless even short trips. Next it'll get some over due maintenance in the form of an oil change and diff fluids replaced. (I mean, in ten years I've never had to crack the diff's open on her.... that's a good thing right?)..
Spent most of Saturday chatting with Butch and his son. Got the fishing trip FINALLY this weekend, it took so long to get here that I'm sure going to try to make it last as long as I can.
Phone finally died, so had to get a new one. Still it lasted four or five years, so I can't complain too much. Got another one of those Otter Boxes for it. That seemed to help in the long life of the phone.
