I'll be pulling out the crewcab long bed 89 F350 soon. After I finally finish painting it that is. The last coat went on to wet and ran, like down the whole tailgate. So... it's getting resanded and resprayed. FUN!!!
But I think it might actually be longer than the Ex.
Anyway, Lucille has the 5.5 ft. bed. and though I wish for a longer bed some days, i just make due with using the trailers. it's so much easier to load them anyway, with their nice low decks. But yeah.. if I had to do it over again.. I'm thinking regular cab short bed with the 3.5 eb and the max tow package, to get that gearing.
Hope ya'll are having a good week. I'm looking forward to the weekend. Don't forget to check out the Race thread if ya'll can, it's over North of Jacksonville, NC so not far from the VA state line!
I've put a refrigerator in my excursion. A washer and dryer. An air compressor.
A sofa. Kitchen table and chairs. 4x8 sheets of plywood. An entire crape myrtle. Endless amounts of lumber, tools, ladders and work equipment. A canoe and four kayaks at the same time (yes, inside). There ain't much I haven't or can't put in my truck.
He!!, I've slept in my truck. My whole family has slept in the truck. I think a whole village of third world people could live in the back of my truck.
So while yall discuss the merits of comparing short vs long, I'll keep loading mine up. She's a beast.
I have considered putting a ragtop on the back and taking the doors off when she gets long in the tooth.
When one of yall gets a six door, 8 foot bed, 4x4 we'll pull out the rulers and start the measuring contest.
When It comes to measuring I'm only gonna pull out enough to win...
So with the race being canceled Marty and I are going to throw something on the smoker for tomorrow. If you are local or just want to come out and meet up with us, or see the wreck of a project truck I'm working on let me know. PM me or text\call\smoke signal myself or Marty. The food will be good, though we ain't sure what it's going to be yet.
