Well today we made a trip to Morehead to get some things for the trip to Maggie Valley next week. So while the wife was packing stuff I did maintenance to get the vehicles ready for the trip...
Oil change and tire rotation on her Kia, and a oil change on the bike aswell as a well deserved bath, first one in over a year.
Next Saturday morning we head out for the cabin just north of Maggie Valley we will be staying Saturday to Saturday. 411 miles from door step to door step. Me and a Buddy will be riding the bikes while the women chase us in our Kia.

Plans are to definitely slay the dragon one day, maybe shoot up to Mountain city Tn another and do the snake again. I also keep hearing about "the moonshiner" and that sounds fun so who knows may track it down and knock it out too.
Morning, NC! Counting the days and trying to stay focused on working hard until Saturday, when the family and I come down to Topsail for a week
Understood! That week before a vacation always seems the hardest to get through.
Time for me to start focusing on the fishing trip since the old truck won't be going, I'll want the jeep to be able to make the run, which means I actually need to do something to it, like put gas in it and change the oil. Oh and better re-line the rods because I'd hate to lose a bite because the line snapped!
Anyone else here do much Salt Water fishing?

Rezvani's Latest Post-Apocalyptic Monster Is a Ford F-150 Raptor Underneath
Afternoon, Josh. The last time I went fishing I was about 14 years old. We put some lines in the water at Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. Didn't catch a darn thing, but I still remember trying, anyway.
We caught mullet, trout, croaker, pinfish, shrimp and blue crabs last week. Was catching bait fish and shrimp in the cast net then working the live bait for larger fish. We caught several nice blue crabs in the crab pots. Flounder have been hit and miss.
I assume you'll be fishing from the beach. Plenty of fish running near shore this time of year. A long rod (10') and some 10-20lb test, a few bottom rigs and an assortment of 2/0-8/0 circle hooks should catch anything between blues and blacktips.
Dig up sand fiddler crabs for great live bait. Frozen shrimp and mullet work well. Squid occasionally works well. Use a cast net and walk up and down the shore line looking for flashes. Good way to get live bait as well. Keep a bucket handy for the bait fish.
Definitely get some sand spikes to hold your rods.
