Your concern is irrelevant because the sealing surfaces are the bolt's head-seal-banjo-seal-cylinder head.
Well, heck. I didn't know. But, I just went ahead and pulled the check valve out of the original bolts, now they're not different than the 6.4s except maybe not as big of a bore.
Putting it back together, will try to start, then if it doesn't work, I'll start confirming fuel pressure.
Yep, didn't finish getting it back together before it got dark. Almost though. Being the Bonehead, I had taken all the front of the truck off and the radiator and shroud for no reason I learned after you showed me those pics. Should finish early tomorrow. Honestly, didn't see anything wrong with the fuel lines or banjo bolts though, and nothing blew out of the head. But, with the check valves out, it'll definitely have no restrictions.
I'll have to hunt down my gauge and buy some fittings tomorrow to check the fuel pressure. But am helping my brother bid on some trucks at the auction tomorrow as well, which may take a few hours, so not sure I'll have an update for us tomorrow night.

Well, they're certainly not fun to work on, but I'm not really in it for fun, LOL. I'm thinking that now that I've torn this one down a few times, I've figured out how it all goes together, so I won't just automatically reject a truck I can make money on just because it's a van.
But, if I had to choose between an Fseries and Eseries, I'd definitely go with the Fseries. The deal is, the Eseries just make me more money in my business.
After removing the fuel lines, blowing them out, gutting the banjo bolts, and blowing out the heads, so that there's no possible fuel restriction in the truck....
No change whatsoever. Still tries to start but only sputters.
I'm going to work on testing the fuel pressure tomorrow, but honestly, I don't think it's going to matter either. But, we gotta know for sure.
BTW, the dealer tech reprogrammed my PCM while he had it, so I assume that means it's all fine and the wiring harness to it is all fine.
Assuming the fuel pressure checks out, I don't know where to go next. Like one of y'all told me earlier, I feel like I should be tracing my steps back to where I replaced the oil cooler.
Could I have messed up assembling the oil cooler to the housing - left out an oring or something?
Could I have messed up the EGR delete? Dang, it seemed brain-dead easy.
Could I have messed up the intake, maybe not got the gasket in properly?
Could I have messed up the turbo - oil tube, drain tube, electrical?
Could I have messed up by leaving the EGR valve out of the intake laying in the valley connected to the harness?
Could I have messed up repairing the injector connector - I had to crimp a new pin on and replace the plastic connector. New o-rings and copper gasket, then torque it down. The dealer tech says all the injectors are checking out fine.
A lot of could i's , may want to get this on a Diagnostic machine to pin point , seems like the more time working on a money maker is costing you with parts , mis haps and time away from making Money ,
So are you getting good fuel at the HFCM ? If not then I'd get on the pick up tube and sock filters in the tank,
Little story if interested-- my Dad's buddy , his truck started and drove he would get 100 yrds away from the barn the truck would stall , hmmm , I checked ficm, ficm relay , added a blue spring , opened up the HFCM and found butter, asked what fuel and where are you buying , he told me bio fuel and he makes it in the barn , hmmmm , dropped the tank and the 2 sock filters were totally clogged , we changed those out diesel cleaned the tank and ran a crap load of Howes threw the system , he has never had an issue since and he quit making Bio fuel, ( just moonshine ) lol

I think the shine might taste a little better. But really after a few shots you won't care anyway.

100 yards would be good, I could live with 100 yards.
I took the truck to the dealer for diagnosis. The tech was satisfied that it was getting enough fuel to/from the regulator and checked all of the other sensors and cylinder compression.
