Yes you need to confirm fuel pressure is there. I bought a test adaptor on e bay for these E series. Its just an aluminum cap for the top fuel filter with a 90 on top to hook to a gauge, not bad to get to. From your video of it trying to start, it sounds like a vw. Like the 7.3's used to trying to start on 4 cyl's. Did you replace the one injector, or just the connector ?
Are you saying that because you think I left a paper towel in the intake or reservoir? I'm pretty dang sure I didn't. But, the IPR is the next step after the pressure check. Didn't get anything done today. Needed to cry in my beer for a little while.

great idea. I think I've seen those caps, will look them up and order. I only replaced the connector and one pin.

Sean is saying check the IPR screen because if you wiped the valley reservoir with any towels it will leave lint behind. The lint will make its way to the IPR screen and SHUT YOU DOWN. Check the screen.
Also just an idea, unplug the one injector you changed the connector on. Maybe you swapped pins and the FICM shuts off half the engine while cranking. Just thinking.

That is just what I was saying. I should of been a little clearer on that point.
The best way to clean the reservoir is use a sucker and get as much up as you
can then use brake cleaner and then back to the sucker. Once you have all the
oil removed and the walls clean the cleaner will evaporate.

OK, I'm going to do that but all the scanners are reading IPR as good. Thanks.

Oooh, that's a possibility and easy to check. I'll try that in the morning. But would IDS say all the injectors were OK if that were true?
Not sure but what if you swapped the 2 coil wires in the connector ? I don't know what that would do. Sounds like you have a little time to recheck what you did until you can check the fuel pressure.

Yeah, I tried to be careful when I replaced the pin. Only took the broken wire out of the rubber grommet, so I don't think they got crossed. Maybe I could have rotated the entire grommet so that all 4 are lined up wrong with the harness connector. I'll yank it tomorrow. just a little leery because the injector side never wanted to stay seated in the head very good. That's how I broke it - by pulling it up out of the head with needle nose. It's not possible to reach it with your hand on this Eseries. I have to take the valve cover off with is a major PITA. But, it's worth a try at this point.
Anyone ever wonder how many times you have to work on a truck getting all greasy before there's no greasiness left on the truck to get you dirty? Just amazes me how dirty I get tearing the same parts off over and over. Not like I've got oil leaking everywhere. Just seems to be no end to the greasiness. LOL
I'm sorry, I haven't checked it yet. Took the day off to sulk. Hope to do it this weekend, but we're supposed to have rain the next 4 days and the truck is parked outside. If I can find the fitting for the head plug, I can check it from inside the cab. Thanks for checking in.
