Build Progress - VIN's and build dates

No build dates or VIN yet, ordered from a big dealer here in TX.
A word of caution from my dealer to those ordering as dealer stock...
When the new F150's were announced and order banks opened, exited customers wanted orders marked as dealer stock - for the same reasons, to have them as early as possible.
According to my dealer - there were a few instances of custom ordered dealer stock trucks that never made it into customers hands. What happened? These trucks were given the green light at the factory, then moved to holding lots awaiting transport. Before moving off the holding lots, Ford put a stop on transport to make some changes that were missed at the factory.
After waiting, and waiting, and waiting some more - the dealer encouraged these customers to create new orders. By this time Ford was filling retail (custom built) orders, and these trucks arrived BEFORE the other orders ever made it. Again - all from my dealer - it was like those early ordered dealer stock trucks got stuck in limbo between the factory and transport. They eventually saw these trucks, but not after long delays.
All that said... it seems the priority numbering is a crap shoot. By my estimate - some guys will see their dealer stock orders early. Others won't. Some will see retail orders early, and others won't. And some, well some of you may get a truck stuck in limbo like my dealer story. That was enough to scare me off the dealer stock priority number and leave it as retail.

Uh oh. It looks like they'll have an extra 2016 super duty to sell off the lot when it gets there.

My dealer gets their weekly updates on Thursdays. My dealer was allocated 2 early trucks and let me order mine with theirs. Of the 7 ordered only mine and one of their 6 stock orders got vins today. Mine was ordered as a stock for them code 21.

Just guessing here but their 176" got scheduled for July 11 and mine a week later as the 160". So maybe long beds week one and shortys week two?....

You are certainly blessed with an early Christmas!! Punched the numbers in the order tracking two or three times every day. Time to check in at the dealer again tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up!
