I heard they were doing it also because flood watch season starts on may 15. Almost a contradiction of terms seeing as how dry it is due to lack of rainfall. Last 2 days have been frustrating weather wise.
Dunno about brick houses, but bricks don't burn. At lesat that's how I look at it.
Flood mitigation with the existing dams is kind of a funny thing. Glenmore reservoir doesn't really have enough volume to do much. It's a pretty tiny lake. Besides, all this warm weather has been melting the snowpack in the mountains, which is where most of our water comes from. We almost never get an kind of flooding from rain alone. That 2013 flood was a rain falling on snow situation, which releases much more water than rain alone.
Anyway, what do I know? I'm not paid to worry about these things, and I live up on a high hill, as do you Perry, so if we get flooded, someone had better build an ark!
My brother has a sailboat. Maybe the whole exercise is the flood mitigation program. Wa thinking there cant be that much snow in the mountains due to the heat. Yeah, if we get flooded out we're all SOL. Tomorrow is supposed to be back to normal weather wise. Time to do some catch up work around here so that I can take advantage of tomorrow, been weather lazy and its starting to catch up on me and now theres getting to be a lot to do.
Morning John and Puddy.
Sounds like life is getting back to normal for you Puddy, good thing
House deal fell through, owner wont come off his price and banks wont finance anyone into this place due to lack of updating on this place. Banks are saying this place is $250k plus windows, furnce and roof, not 280k plus updates like owner wants. Place was mismanaged by property managers and owner is 270+ into this place. The last buyer owns place next door and has tenant whos lease is up on July 15th so that may become an option. Am having a meeting with owner and agent this week. Place wont sell without a tenant and the market is still dropping.
I hate home sales, maybe I need to find a way to try to buy it, would take a year.
So, sending another buyer through this house routine. Found out some info on this place, current owner paid 310 for this place 9 years ago, someone saw him coming and that was the current agent...oops. Still have a meeting to have with these 2 and it looks like I'm doing some low budget upgrades like the roof, my kitchen cabinets and a water heater. This is really becoming a pita.
Hello all, brought the truck into town last night so I could get an Insurance Appraisal done this morning. Luckily the rain stayed away, even though I know we could use some. The bumper has just been covered in primer so it doesn't match the rest of the truck.
Getting in some R&R away from the wife and kids this weekend. Helping my Bro get his cabin ready for summer. Should be pretty low key. I've been feeling like hell lately, so be nice to get things off my mind.
