What a crappy weather day, wish it would just rain and get it over with. This cold humid with the occasional drizzle and lots of rain is just a pita. Dress warm enough to go out and I overheat and break a heavy sweat, dress lighter and the humidity with the wind and chill locks up my back.

Neighbor a block down works at the Drop in Center, was chatting with him, gave him the ph# for Norms ghetto on Pensville Close. (good name for the place). He gave me the warning about billeting and renting out to single males. Says theres a few newbies showing up everyday, the debit cards are going to be issued in about a week and all hell is going to break out there. Be careful who you rent to if you rent out a room or basement.

I asked him yesterday about billeting a couple but he said that they would be staying a mininum of 4weeks and up to 10 weeks and I cant do that as the room is booked for the 2nd week of june and this house hasnt been sold yet. The routine hes dealing with are guys that stay in evac shelter for 2 days getting sleep, clothed, clean, fed and then scam some$ so they have doping / drinking start and then head downtown for 2 days. Then they head back to the evac shelter to stay on file and start over. A fair amount of them will be looking for welfare addresses as its going to be easier to survive the next 6 months here than in Fort Mac. Makes sense, to bad for us and the crime rate, could be a long summer.

Just heard a story about a guy named Bruce Mcdonald, who escaped the flames of Fort Mac, got on a plane to go home to Cape Breton. On the way home his home in Cape Breton burned down. Thats a hard one to take.

Morning folks. If you are around the elbow river in Calgary, don't freak out if it looks a little high. they are releasing extra volume from the Glenmore dam today. Trying to flush some sediment from the reservoir, as well as re-calibrating the flow capacity of the section downstream of the dam.
Buddy of mine who is a fisherman is pretty pissed off, says it's going to wash away all the fish eggs, and those that aren't washed away, will be covered in sediment. I guess it's running at 20 times the flow today compared to yesterday.
