Picked up my seats that I had recovered, I have to get the color matched paint for the plastic pieces on the outsides of the seats and cup inserts for the center console, I will be painting the ABS panels too with contrasting color. Waiting on carpet samples to arrive as well..
And here is the bumper, I welded studs behind the bumper so no bolts seen from the outside for a smooth look. Will be taking the bumper to the chrome shop shortly..
Bumper is tucked in fairly close to the roll pan..
My time as of late has been getting things in epoxy and high build primer so had not much to add to my build but did take some pics the other day so here they are..
I am currently ready to spray high build primer on the hood and fenders.
I sprayed 2 coats of Evercoat's product called Slicksand , blocked it out then sprayed 2 coats of PPG OMNI mp802 multi purpose primer that gets blocked out with 400 grit ..
The slicksand actually saves you money because it sprays on thicker than the regular high build primer which costs about the same and it sands out really nice..
My hood and front fenders have been in epoxy for awhile now and should have put the slicksand on shortly after because epoxy is a bitch to sand but today the next step took place with the slicksand being applied. It's ready to start block sanding now but too dang hot so will get on it in a couple days...
Pretty much but it takes a lot of effort to scuff it, I used 80 grit on my D/A sander . If you use this slicksand only mix a quart at a time because it has a very short pot life and don't want to leave it in the gun unless it's a disposable one...lol 1/2 hour pot life
