The original fan shroud I had trimmed back to work with the original radiator no longer worked with the new radiator so modifications needed to be made.

I sliced it in half and shortened the bottom half by cutting out an inch in height from the bottom and in one and a half inches to clear the trans cooler lines.

Welded in a piece at the bottom to close things up and ears to the 2 halves to bolt them together.

Used these threaded inserts to attach the shroud to the rad

All that's left to do now is repaint it. I have plenty of clearance all round..

I bought a kit from Princess Auto in Winnipeg, they work really well..

Thought I'd save myself a bit of money by making my own stake pocket extensions today, so cut all the pieces out of some scrap 16 gauge material I had.

Test fit and will weld them on when I remove the box off the frame..

I also cut out some patches to fill in the top stake pocket holes.

Man, that's a nice chunk of work you got done there. Nice! Is that Forest Green Metallic almost black from some angles? My friend has a newer Silverado that color and its really nice.

Not sure if it gets to the point of looking black but does get rather dark at some angles. How's your project coming along, don't recall any updates ..
