touching up a few spots with metal to metal filler where there was a few pit marks under the sprig perches before I apply the epoxy primer and top coat.
I did manage to get some of the front sheet metal sand blasted and covered in epoxy and the frame has been re-assembled but still need to install the rear diff but waiting for new backing plates to arrive. My shop is rather cluttered now and hard to move around in. I need to start cleaning up the motor and get it looking fresher, it is a stock 5.8 motor out of an 83 F 150 with less than 60,000 miles on it according to the owner I got it from, it's not a power horse but think I'll run it as is for now and maybe upgrade later, money is tight now that I'm retired.
It was a running motor when I pulled it from the truck it came in and has just over 55,000 miles on it. It should move this project just fine, not spending money under the hood will help with the other things needed. It does look better than this
Thinking of throwing the cab back on today and start the final body work soon. Still need to clean up the layer of rust on the hood and will blast it on the next nice day we have. I'm still in need of a box and will likely order a new one sometime before spring.
Just to bring this up to date I've assembled the front end again and will soon start spreading filler over these fenders and hood in preparation of primer.
My battery tray was rotten so modified one pulled out of a scraped Chevy pickup and used the original side bracket and added an extension to the other end of the tray so it bolted to the running board bracket like the original set up.
