Can someone stop the room from spinning? Hypertech,Superchip and Diablo, which one? I've read info on all 3, I just finished reading some of the threads here. I like the Diablo Predator, with the 5 settings, and loads of other things I can monitor and do,and I think it said I would be able to switch between settings on the go.Now,here comes my problem,my boss just gave me a single stage 100 hp chip in a Diablo bag,but the chip itself has a Hypertech sticker, which is which? He used it on his 2001,F350,7.3 4x4,will I be able to use it on my 2000,F350,7.3,4x4? It does come at the right price,free99.

I must say I am with superduty 7.3. Can anyone say which is better, the Diablo, or MicroTuner? Or is it simply a matter of preference?

I ordered the Diablo Saturday night as I liked the features, but was really torn. Thankfully I read some stuff here about the Diablo, and no starts in cold weather. I changed my mind and changed my order this morning to the Superchips Tuner.

If it's a red chip with horns, its a Diablo.

I went with the Superchips Tuner and installed the 90hp tune yesterday. I took it out on the road and WHOLY COW, what a difference that made. This thing drives like a suped up 5.4 in a 1/2 ton truck. I was amazed by the difference.

Will the superchip screw up my oversize tire calibration?

If so how do I fix it?

No, and it has tire size calibration capabilities built in. Check out the numerous posts in this thread about its features.

UPS delivered my New SCMT on Mon

UPS delivered my New SCMT on Mon, I ripped the box open and installed the 70 HP 150 ft/lbs TUNE (Tow Mode) in ~5 min and went for a drive. WOW Big Difference in the low end power, I mean I barely have to push the GO pedal and off I go.

I installed the 90 HP 175 ft/lbs TUNE (Performance Tow) Tuesday at lunch. I really cannot tell any difference in the two tunes (Tow Mode and Performance Tow).

I installed the 110 HP 200 ft/lbs TUNE (Hi-Performance) setting on Wednesday. From the start it feels like the other two settings, but once you get going you can really tell the difference. And again just like the last two programs NO Problem with EGT's. Boost is around 25 psi.

I have notices NO REAL increase in EGT's (but this is un-loaded), Boost has gone up from ~17 to 23-25 psi. I got on it at ~ 10 MPH and had to get off the GO pedal at ~ 85 mph, (got there fast) EGT's were no more than ~950-1000*, which are about the same as Stock.

I will be towing my Travel Trailer on Friday (~10K), so I will see than what my EGT's are under load using the 70 HP 150 ft/lbs TUNE (Tow Mode)

My truck is STOCK, except for Gauges. I'M running the VDH4 code.

So far the SCMT was well worth the $290 I spent on it.

IM HAPPY!!

I do not know if it changes anything in the transmission but the shifts do seam firmer and quicker.

Question for those using a SCMT, What setting did you end up with for every day driving, back to work and such, Not towing?

I cant make up my mind yet.

I am running the 90 hsp setting right now, and no problems. When it gets nice this spring, and I get out the fifth wheel I'll go with the 70 hsp "tow safe" setting. I really like ine too, and keeping my foot out of it, I have noticed a slight increase in fuel economy.

770-806-1955. We have minimum prices we can advertise them for so you'll need to call for the best deal.

Hey Ken,
Trying to sell another one for you, any problems with these working on a '95 F250 turbo-diesel (not powerstroke)?

Thanks

Non-Powerstroke diesels cannot be chipped or reflashed. Sorry.

Oh... 95? Are sure? The Powerstroke came in for the 94.5 model year, replacing the previous 7.3/6.9 diesel.

Is there an easy way to tell the difference between a powerstroke and non in a 95? Did the the non have mechanical fuel injection?
