I had the 1700 and it seemed to drive better on the perf/tow setting, and I couldnt tell a huge improvement between the 2 anyway. Yes and the other benefit is your not being so hard on the tranny. IMO, keep it on perf/tow setting. Diesels are so much fun!!!
I had a 99 Dodge CTD before this. And I liked it alot, but I was always getting my a$$ handed to me by Powerstrokes. This guy in my college class is always bragging about his CTD, how its got intake, chip, exhaust, and thats its insane powerful, this and that. I was getting on the freeway right behind him going home, and he floored it (identifiable by the huge ploom of smoke it started blowing & the scream it let out) So I switched to my 100hp setting and mashed on it, I was gaining the second my foot hit the floor, I was next to him 1/4 way up the ramp and a good 150 yards away by the end of it. Good times! + mine is huge compared to his, and weighs alot more. Poor guy. Im just glad thats not me anymore
Does the Superchips keep the torque converter locked while decelerating with or without braking with the 4r100 like my stock tune does, or does it unlock the T/C whenever the brake lights come on?
HI I just got the 1705 for my 96 I installed it and all it does is rev up to 3000 rpm it gives a code p0603 when I return it back to stock It runs fine ?
OK, I know that plenty of folks have asked about what happens if your truck gets separated from the programmer forever and you didn't get the tune out. BUT, my question is, what can be done to make the tuner usable again. The truck is gone, forever, and I want to sell the programmer, but it has the stock tune in it and no way to get it back. How do I get the programmer set up to be used again. The truck was "fixed" by a Ford Dealer without my knowledge and now the truck has been traded and there is no way for me to access the computer. Also, I had a new transmission put in it and that's why they accessed the truck's computer. Can Superchips fix this and if so, what do they charge to reset the programmer? Thanks for any quick replies.
Contact Super Chips and tell them the dealer erased your program. Do not tell them you sold the truck, let them think you still own it. For a fee they will reload the SC program.
