I am getting a connection error code when I am trying to install mine. It did read the codes though. Why can it read the codes but not install the programs?
I am only getting 15.2 mpg with my 01 f350 crew cab 4x4, it is set on the tow safe mode, I wonder if I put it on the perf tow mode if it will increase my mileage, any ideas. I was driving around 73 mph with a 4 wheeler in the back. Not alot of extra weight.
something does not sound rite ...im on high perf and getting just over 20 miles a gal highway on #2 diesel still...but our gals are bigger im told..3.78L a gal here Imperial?...dont know...time for bed ZZZZ
OK, so I want a tuner, seems like the Predator and SCMT do the same as far as Horses and Torque. My problem is the EGT's . Reading predator's website, it sounds like it can monitor live EGT's. Is this right?
I've read all of the stuff I can find on these thigns and still can;t figure it out. Getting senile I guess.
What I need is the ability to tune the 7.3 for just day to day tooling around and change it to serious towing, back and forth.
The ho torgue numbers just don;t make sense. Is there a siple way to just mash a button and switch back and forth

I also am wondering about being able to simply switch back and forth as needed. During winter months I will not be towing at all, but thru the spring to fall camping season I'll be towing a 9000 Lb fifth wheel with my 96 F350. Even then I still don't want to sacrifice better fuel economy and everyday driving performance when I am not towing.
Unfortunately I am having my unit power up when plugged in. I'm going to try the fuse check first. If this don't work does anyone have another suggestion?
I leave mine in tow safe year round. As long as you don't put your foot in it the mileage is pretty good. But beware that it is hard not to get on it once in awhile, especially if you want to open some eyes when a 4 wheeler gets a little rancey on ya. However, if you must, you can change the program at any time you so desire. Just plug her in and and program to your hearts content. Good luck

I used to have a 99 Dodge CTD, with an Edge Comp. I loved being able to switch between settings whenever I want, and wouldnt have it any other way.
When I bought my excursion it came with the Superchip 1700 and I absolutely hated it simply because you dont have the option of switching between programs without turning your truck off and waiting 5+ minutes to do so. I ditched the programmer in favor of a Wide Open Performance 6 position chip.
I cant even explain to you how much better this chip is, when I got it I really wasnt expecting much of a power increase I mainly wanted the option of switching between modes whenever I want to. But OMFG its like nite and day compared to the Superchip programmer, all the way up the powerband feels not only more powerful but smoother. Even the 50HP setting on the new chip feels stronger than the Off Road setting of the tuner. And the 100HP setting, my G0D! It cant be to good on my trans but holy he|| is it fun.
And to top it off he only charged me $499 installed. Tho he did say it would take around 45 minutes and knew I was waiting for it... I was there for over 2 hours.
"Selectable Chips available in 2-6 position settings. Your choice of programs are High Idle, Stock, 50hp, 75hp, 100hp, 140+ Extreme.
Wide Open Performance offers custom tuning upon customer request.
$425.00 "
Dont mean to sound like a salesman here. I mainly wanted to say that I think for the money you can get a MUCH MUCH better chip than the SuperChip. Just my 02
Later!
Oh BTW, I was getting 11.8 MPG with the Superchip and am now getting 12

Thanks for all of the input. I've finally figured out the Superchips tuner and it's working well. Can't say I see a huge improvement over stock, but there is some. My mileage hasn't really improved much either... It really isn't hard to switch back and forth, it's just remembering to do so before you go to tow and back that's a problem. I've taken to leaving the tuner in my truck so I have it when needed. However, it's getting to be winter and you're not supposed to leave it out in the cold, so I guess I'll bring it in and hope I don't have to tow anything spur of the moment. Thanks
I suppose I have the old 2 tuner 1705 (Perf/Tow, Hi Perf, Stock). For normal driving, what is the preferred setting. I don't tow anything. But, it seems the Perf/Tow would be the easiest on the tranny and mileage. What do ya'll think?
