Sorry to hear you're having trouble, Bill. You'll get it licked yet.

The drain is definitely too small. It pushed some oil through the seals on the turbo. I'm gonna make the drain bigger and Travis said it may seal back up. If not I'll have to put new seals in the turbo.

Well, at least if you do have to reseal the turbo, it will be easier to pull off the truck than the stock turbo...

Hopefully it will stop blowing oil past the seals when you lower the pressure in the center section. The oil should be able to flow freely out of the drain, so pressure within the center section should be very low. Since you said it didn't blow enough to coat the compressor housing in oil, I'm hoping the seals are OK. We'll see soon I hope. Lol

as I'm trying to learn things about turbos here, I'm figuring you're talking about the two external tubes that go into the center section of your turbo, there, Bill? with the upper being the supply and lower being the drain?

if this is correct, shouldn't the holes be sized correctly from the manufacturer, or have you done some add-on/mod work to the turbo? or maybe LPOP?

sorry for the stupid questions if I'm way off-base here, but like I said, I'm trying to figure out the direction I want to go myself with my upcoming build.

I'm gonna make a new piece for the bottom of the turbo and a new piece where the oil drains in the block and make them both to use 1/2" pipe instead of 3/8". I'm making the new drain pipe with 1/2" copper (5/8" O.D.)
