That sucks. I've had 2 hernias repaired but they usually use some mesh from the inside. Hope it isn't a "do over"!

They did use mesh. I hope it isn't either. I hope I'm just being paranoid.

I would think what they did should hold up to a sneeze. If not I hope he warranties his work! LOL!!

A sneeze can be pretty powerful, but I wouldn't think it would be a problem. I hope not for your sake Bill.

did you try pushing it back in, Bill? it may be painful, but you can usually do it. if they did use the mesh, maybe the mesh came through the incision in that spot due to the force of the sneeze and your guts behind it. You should be able to just push it back in and be extra careful until the stomach wall heals itself back together. ...or maybe that's what the doctor'll do on thurs.

I had one hernia repaired on my right side with mesh - have never had any issues. I got another on my left side a few years later, but was quite small. the doctor advised that I just keep pushing it back in whenever I feel it come through again. that was back in high school, and apparently I became sedentary enough in college and afterward that it just went away. I haven't noticed it in many years.

also, my surgeon advised to have a pillow handy for a while after surgery to press against the wound site whenever I felt a sneeze or cough coming on. ...might be something to consider.

JP, I'm afraid to try pushing on anything. I've had that hernia in my belly button most of my life I think, and it was always very sensitive. I couldn't stand for anyone to mess with it. After the surgery, it looked like a normal inny belly button and no pain. Since the big sneeze Monday night, it is popped back out and feels like it did before. I'm pretty sure I blew an o-ring in there. I have a follow up appointment tomorrow, so we'll see what the doc says, but I'm almost certain this is going to mean another surgery

Now, for the truck. I went out to my shop this evening and piddled around a little, which I have to say felt very good to do, and pulled the chip, pillar pod, the two gauge pod under the dash, all the gauge wiring, and the amp behind the back seat. I also set the collector and up pipes back up on the engine on the stand and was going to try to add the v-band flanges in, but unfortunately, the way I built the pass side up pipe, there is no way to get the v-band flanges in it with building a whole new pipe, and I really don't want to cut all that back apart and do that so I think I'll just leave them out for now and go ahead and get everything welded up. I need to start making some progress on this build and moving forward because I need to get my truck on the road. Once I get the down pipe built and in the truck, I will be able to tell more about the clearance for the v-band in the up pipe on that side. Then later on I can build another collector and set of up pipes with the flanges in them on the stand and swap them out. Depending on what the doc says tomorrow, I'm hoping to get something done this weekend and finally maybe make some progress.

Good luck with the doctor appointment tomorrow Bill. I'm hoping for the best.

I bet its killing you not being able to work on your truck when its sitting there asking you to! I may try to start my stud install this weekend, see how I'm feeling. I know I won't be setting any speed records doing this project right now either!

Thanks Darin. I'm gonna get some stuff done this weekend. Since we are cut back to 4 days a week at work, I'll have three day weekends and I'm taking advantage of this one.
