Someone should have spent a little more time putting that side together. No reason it couldn't have been made different in one piece. If I have any more problems with that joint I will re-do the pipe.
It sounds like you could cut both ends on a slight angle and cut a short piece of pipe to weld between the two pipes. I'd have to look at them to know for sure though. I'm about to go back to two boots on my OBS instead of just the V-band on top. It's extremely stiff and I can grab it and move the turbo around. I've never liked that, but it hasn't blown any boots so I keep putting it off. I have a cast 90* piece to clamp to the turbo that takes a boot on the other side. Theoretically, that would get really close to using the same pipe as a stock setup, just would have to be lower and a slightly different angle.

Oh, it could be modified to work, I just don't know why it wasn't done like that to begin with.

Checked the oil leak on the turbo drain and it isn't the piece that bolts to the turbo that's leaking, it's the fitting itself. I tightened it up but it's still leaking. After taking it for another ride this evening I also found a small leak coming from the bottom of the HPOP gasket..... I'm gonna pull that drain line out and redo it tomorrow. And I'm not sure, but I think there may be oil in the exhaust and compressor housings of the turbo. I'll check that out tomorrow too.

Well, that's not the best of news. I have one question, is your drain line big enough? I was wondering that since I saw your picture, but never mentioned it before. I have no idea how much oil goes into the turbo, and how much needs to drain, but your drain is quite a bit smaller than mine. I would think its big enough, but I wondered that.

It's 5/16" going in and 3/8" going out. By looking at the inlet hole in the turbo, only so much oil can go in I would think. It's only about an 1/8" or 3/16" hole down in there, so I figured 3/8" would be big enough for a drain. Maybe it isn't. I can try to make it 1/2".

I really don't know Bill, I just know its smaller than mine. Thought I'd bring it up since you are having problems in that area. It's been on my mind. Ask Travis, maybe he knows.

I talked to him about it when I made them and he said he thought they would be fine.

I don't think it's the pump leaking. I think it's the gasket.

I thought it would be ok, but IIRC we discussed that it wasn't ideal. My drain is -10, so that should be around 5/8" iirc.
