Great build. I used the MMB reverse tilt kit from mid fifties (made by CPP i bleleive). You don't have to use the stock hood holes. Just some drilling and small cutting required. Mid fifty has an installation video on Youtube which shows how easy it really is.

Decided to take a couple steps backwards. Gonna pull the 351w to find out why low oil pressure. Can't get to the oil pump because oil pan won't come off unless I pull motor. This motor came with the truck rebuilt from machine shop. I mean, they left out an oil galley plug, so who knows what else is wrong with it. Gonna have somebody go through it, maybe even stroke it to a 408. To be continued...

Hopefully everything works out with the engine.

I had my 331 stroker grenade in my 69 Mustang after 1 hour of runtime due to a lobe heat treatment failure and I was out of my warranty (on time) so comp let me eat that bill... Nothing like paying for something 2 times and not getting to use it the first time.

Better to find out now than to have those aluminum heads damaged.

jrockdiddy _ any updates ? what is the status of the motor condition ?

Also, I was looking at your power brake booster, what brand is that ? I can see you used a Wilwood master and set the proportioning valve close to the master, I like that set up, nicely done.

Tuff stufff brake booster. The wildwood prop valve has a $30 bracket kit that comes with bracket and lines to connect to MC. I should have bought that, but already made my lines and crappy bracket. I just got the motor out a couple days ago, flipped it over and checked oil pump and pickup tube. Everything looks ok, so it's probably rod bearings aren't correct. Haven't decided if I want to tackle that job myself or take it to a shop.

Check the relief spring in the pump. I have seen more than one be stuck with crap, weak or some other issue.

It is behind the cap that is partially covered by the pick-up flange, here is a quick picture I found for you.

Looks like it could be, that would be a lifter galley missing the plug and it would cause your low oil pressure issue.

I will go to garage and see if I can confirm and get some photos for you.

I went and dug out my bare stroker block and sure enough that is the driver's side oil galley at the front of the lifter bosses. I will attempt to upload a photo I took but no promises on that.

I did it through the dist hole on a small block Mopar but never a SBF. I agree with you, pull the cover and double check everything. If that was forgot there could be additional issues. There is a welsh plug at back of the intake valley that seems to get forgot a lot on SBF. Go through it now before you surround it with sheetmetal.
Your welcome, glad I can help.
