Thinking that the PO paid the machine shop to build a short block and then assembled himself and didn't know what he was doing

Just been working out some bugs lately since i got the truck running. Finally fixed all the electrical. turn signals work, gas gauge works, brake lights work...Started widening the driver fender. Have a thread going on that, so I'll just post a few pics of it. This fender i cut two fenders and welded them together. If anyone is interested in how i did it, just ask. It worked out nice.
rear flange had to be worked
the front and middle actually lined up really well.
Also, started working on the running boards today. Once you widen the rear fenders, that throws the running board mount to the rear fender all out of wack. Had to chop off a bunch just to get them to fit in there. Probably need to play with the running board brackets a little bit also. But I got them in and two bolts in each running board to hold it there. I'll work more on those tomorrow afternoon.
cut a bunch off the rear to match the fender. still have to make a little triangle piece to get them flush to the fender.
Here you can see how the taper just doesn't fit anymore.
All in all, I think she's coming along nicely. It's 55 degrees here in arizona. love Christmas time!! I think this is an awesome picture too
Great build. From your limited amount of drive time how do you like the suspension in your truck? front IFS and 4-link?
No complaints yet. I just now took it on the freeway last week for the first time. Rides really good. I think once I get all the rattling and squeaking fixed, (rear brakes, doors aligned and bolted down, front clip tightened, hood, etc..) I can focus on deciding on ride quality. I've done a bunch of burnouts, there's no hopping on the rear axle at all.
Lmao! Thanks sir xlintonvillian. Just finished tidying up some engine work, now on to the hood tilt kilt.
New weiand intake, trick flow hardened pushrods, bigger jets in the carb(sparks plugs led me to believe running lean), new timing cover gasket and water pump, carb spacer, and adjusted valve lash for my first time. Truck runs even better than before. Very responsive

Progress has been really slow lately, basically just doing little stuff that's not worth taking pics and posting them. I've been enjoying the truck and driving it mostly. Too hot right now to work on it, I think I need to downsize the carb to a 650 or so. Have a 750 on there now, motor bogs down when I punch the gas pedal. Got the hood tilt kit on, used the bear claw latch like the doors. Works pretty good. Bought a new complete bed, (minus the wood steel strips), new driver front fender, and new gravel pan. Hopefully get those on in A couple weeks and sell the old stuff. I'll post some pics of what I've been up to
Made some new seat brackets. The seats are all the way forward, but I think they need to go further forward
