Give me a time and place to meet you and I'll shoot for that. Can't have my cell phone at work so I'll be checking here. Don't know how long my guilty conscience will allow me to stay, but I plan on coming out. Want to pick some brains about how to deal with that exhaust leak.

I'll give Josh some time to sleep, and rattle his cage too, and see about a meeting place.
On that exhaust leak, you need to pick a day and remove that intake manifold, just to see the broken bolt. And with some luck, there is more than enough sticking up, to be able to grab it with a good pair of vice grip pliers, and hopefully, it will turn, and come on out.

Sounds good. Google maps is saying 1hr 10min drive for me, so just need a bit of a heads up so I can be there in time to meet y'all up that way. I got this thing about being on time, I feel compelled to do a bunch of pushups whenever I'm late.

Me too, well without the pushups I'm usually early. I have a 50 minute or so drive from Apex.

Had a good time up at the car show this afternoon. Was nice to see Josh and Bob again, and great to meet John and his wife Sherry as well. There were A LOT of very nice cars, well restored/maintained at the show, but only 2 Ford trucks. Couldn't have asked for a better day for it, mostly sunny with a light breeze, just perfect. BBQ was pretty good too! Thanks for spotting me Josh, I owe you.

Josh, John, Matt, nice seeing you boys today. And hope the rest of you all are doing well.
We had a nice time, seen some sweet stuff, and some nice cars/trucks too. If you get my drift.
My favorites are the Starskey & Hutch Torino (Clone, and with a few runs, but vary nice). And 4, 66 Fairlane 500's and all big block 390 cars. Then that sweet 1969, 16k Thunderbird. SCHWING!
John, I was really hoping to see your Mustang!

I'm glad y'all came out, I had a good time hanging out and seeing you guys and meeting Matt. As usual Bob was a troublemaker, we had to hold him back from whipping that Starsky & Hutch guys *** because he wouldn't let us slide across the hood. At least thats the way I remember it.

The food was good, I guess (I'm not sure I even tasted mine). I wolfed it down so fast I bit my tongue at one point, and almost choked a minute later. I was stretched for time, barely had time to visit. But considering the BBQ came from the 16 top entrants in the contest I would say it was very good, it wasn't dry for sure. The whole "place your order by 11:30 and it'll be delivered by 12:30" thing was a big flop, I know it was well after 1 when the cart finally showed up!

Not to mention suggesting we lump up the BBQ guy for being late

Hate I missed it. Glad y'all were able to get together. We ended up going down east to visit Kim's family. Cool photos and cars.

It was a good time. Lots of beautifully restored cars. Matt got to see his first straight 8 engine in a Packard 120. Now there's a dream car.

Was that the black Packard? There is also an old late 30's Oldsmobile that I see sometimes with a straight 8, he doesn't come to our show but he attends the big Classic Chevy show at Lake Wheeler. The engine must be 5 feet long!

Hey Josh I shared your pictures on my car club's facebook page, I didn't think you'd mind.

And to everyone else, I'm not trying to influence any decisions about where to eat, but I feel like I should point out that me, Bob, and Josh, all agreed that City BBQ was about the best place we've eaten as a group, and I don't think Matt has been there yet. But there's only 2 places, Garner and Cary, as far as I know.

Oh thanks I'm gonna upload these too. I see you got a pic of my buddy Paul's 65 Chevy C10. That was an old forest service truck, he bought it in the 80's for next to nothing and used it when he restored his old farm house. He has a 100+ year old farm house on 1010 road, it had to be moved a mile away from where it originally was. After they moved it and built a new foundation he used the truck to haul stuff to the landfill as they gutted the house and then to haul supplies back from the lumber yard, etc, as they restored it (which took something like 8 years). And then when they finally finished, he figured "this old truck earned itself a restoration!" and had it all redone. It's got the straight 6 motor and geared down low, he says it can pull just about anything, but going over 45 mph is asking a little much. haha

Sorry I missed out guys. Was tired and broke. Lol. The real reason is I spent Wednesday night and all day Thursday at the hospital with my mom. She complained of shortness of breath. Believe me, I have never felt the emotion before like when a doctor tells you the blood test shows markers of a bloodclot in the lungs. Man your whole world stops turning. Thankfully the CT Scan and x-rays showed everything was ok. I dont even remember leaving the house over the weekend. Glad to report mom is feeling better and doing well.
On another note Fred Chason's Grandson's BBQ buffet is opening a new location in Smithfield. It should be open by the end of the month through the middle of next month. Woo-Hoo
