Another place that is east that I've heard is great is Fat fellas BBQ in Newport. Everyone swears it is good, I've never been, may have to change that sometime soon.
Story is that Moores was sold to a distant cousin, that use to own the 2 local Smithfields, New Bern and Havelock which are the best Smithfields I've ever had. That said last time I rode by Moores it had been pretty much demoed except a small part of the building and is going to be rebuilt. I also understand he is going to be using the same recipe as the orginal owner used for years.

I just talked to my cousin Don he's up for a trip out there, so me and him will meet you out there at 6:15 ish! I just posted it to the Classic Ford Trucks of Carolina group on facebook, a couple of those guys had expressed interest previously in meeting up with us.
