Monthly Dinner

I got a little monkey wrench thrown into the plans though. I'm supposed to help a friend at a car show tomorrow, and that will probably keep me until maybe 3pm. I already knew that, had hoped to be out sooner, but we'll see. I figured to have Sherry stick the beans in the oven for me so they can bake for 2 hours, but she won't be here. She's going down to Wilmington tomorrow to hang out with our daughters. She swears I told her the FTE dinner was Friday, and that the car show was Saturday, so she figured to make plans for herself since I wouldn't be around anyway. So now she had planned on us going to eat tonight. But without her here on Saturday I've got to stick the beans in the oven early before I leave for the car show, which means when I show up at James in the afternoon, they'll probably be cold.

So basically I'll be showing up late, without my wife, carrying cold beans..
Looking forward to seeing everyone that can make it.
A few more sides and desserts have been added.
The only thing I'm short on is seating so bring a bag chair if you are able.
Provided:
Beef Brisket, Shrimp, Pork Sausage, Chicken Sausage, Hot Dogs. Grill and oven space if needed.
Sides:
Baked Beans x2
Taters
Bob's famous Cake
Tater Salad
Mac and Cheese
Various Chips/snacks
Desserts x3
Looks like 15-20 with about 5 maybes. Should be a good crowd. Oh, and I've got FTE swag that was supposed to be distributed at the fall fling.

(it's topped with brown sugar pepper bacon). It'll be alright though I think. Looking forward to seeing everyone. I have to work tonight so I probably can't stay much past 6.
James and Kim, thanks for hosting dinner for us all.
Everything was great, and there was not a shred left of Kim's Brisket
Great to see the gang, and a new chapter member, along with Jame's riding buddy's.
Shari had a nice time setting and visiting with the other ladies. Back home, shoes are off, and the heat is on.
We turn our Christmas lights on Thanksgiving evening, and will be on every evening through Christmas, unless it's raining. We'd like for you all to come out a take a peak if you find yourself in Apex.

Y'all be safe
It was nice to put faces to people and to throw the bull around.
The wife and I had a great time and look forward to doing this again.
Thank you,
Dave G.

*Forgot to mention: James do you remember when I leaned into my car to get the keys so I could open the trunk? Well in the dark apparently I dropped my bean serving spoon onto the seat, didn't realize, and drove all the way home sitting in beans. D'oh!
Kurt I mentioned the 4 barrel Autolite's to the Mustang group I am in, do you have an email address that I can pass along to anyone who is interested?
1 yellow cake mix.
1 pkg cream cheese. Softened.
1 stick real butter.
3 eggs.
4 cups powdered sugar.
Melt 1 stick real butter, and blend in 1 egg, and mix into yellow cake mix.
Press batter into a greased 9x13 cake pan.
Beat 2 remaining eggs for 3 minutes, blend in 1 8oz pkg of softened cream cheese. Blend until not lumpy. Mix in 4 cups powdered sugar, then pore mixture on top of batter mixture.
Bake at 350 degree oven 30 to 45 minutes, or until golden brown. Cake will rise then lower.
