Ryan, get it back, and don't forget I'm not too far away in SD. I'd still keep it (although outside) for you if need be in the future. I guarantee I'd treat you and your truck a heck of a lot better than your so called family member did there.
Ryan, I'd speak with your lawyer about the fact you have a spare set of keys and the title. You know the old saying, possession is 9/10's of the law. Why wait on them to get a salvage title made up? Get the truck and let him report it stolen. you've got the title and matching VIN number, what can they do to you? (ask the lawyer that).
And remember, there are several here who volunteered to keep your truck for at no cost before you left for boot camp. I'm sure all those offers are still open, including mine. Of course I'm probably the furthest away from you, so that would put me at the bottom of the list.

+1, but run this plan through your lawyer first. Do whatever your lawyer advises.
I agree, ask the lawyer. But be weary if there just trying to get cash from you. I don't see how anybody could do anything about you getting your truck with your keys and your title. If they can, we could go around randomly taking each others trucks ***** nilly

I'd be more worried about things getting violent. You may want to see about trying to get a police escort to come with you.
You can store it in the southern Black Hills of SD. Lots of room here. That way you can drive right by Darin's place and **** him off! LOL (I am serious though, like the rest of us)
Ryan >> Bring your truck to Mississippi. Tell Richard and Marcus to come and get. If they do >> they can have it. MESS WITH BEST --- DIE LIKE THE REST. (A old Marine Corps. saying) Hang in there brother.
