Back for now
Alright, lets stop. All this talk of *** whooping and tradin blows is making me start to think about going and taking care of some issues i told myself to handle the right way lol! In all seriousness, I'm afraid that now that he knows the truck is hot, the owner knows, has contacted the authorities, and is actively looking for it he will have sold it, taken it into hiding, or parted it out by now. I would PRINT a copy of the add ASAP, as well as save the phone numbers, and all that jazz.
This is turning out to be a sour situation fellas.

It was just handled dumb.
Our suggestions are dumb too. (in a sense that they are not the wisest ideas, even though they are correct)
Stealing is stealing, even if you are stealing your own things back!
If somebody steals your truck, and you go take it back, You are being a thief too.
Sounds dumb right? Law doesn't think so.
A police report should have been filed for the stolen truck and the location given.
Cops are busy guys, but they sure the hell have time to run by somebodies house with you to pick up your stolen item and make an arrest. Especially if you are a solider!
Play your cards right.
Keep your ducks in a row.

Yeah, I agree. When it comes down to it, everything that has happened is in the PAST. There's nothing we can do about it except learn from it. Ryan needs to focus on what he will do from this moment forward. Planning is key (no pun intended).
Williams right, but I'm sure (knowing myself) if I were in Ryan's shoes, I probably wouldn't handle this situation the right way. I have no tolerance or temperment for a thief or a liar! I've worked for everything I've got and I'll be damned if I'm gonna let ANYBODY just walk away with it. I'd give anything I have to help someone if they needed it, but don't steal from me!

Cause it wouldn't float at all with all the bullet holes I'd put though it.
A good friend of mine lent a set of brand new, 100% tread 39.5 iroks to another guy who was in a tough spot and needed to get to work. The agreement was that he would either take over the payments or pay him back as he got the money. Many many many months later, here we are with not a penny given back or a dime paid off at the tire shop. After asking and asking and trying to get him to pay up, the guy still refuses to pay. Even had the nerve to call and say that he got lug nuts with keys so we shouldn't try "stealing them back".
Needless to say that was the last straw. So some night this weekend, we are going to his house while he's out partying with generator, cutting wheels, impact gun, and hack saws and getting our friends tires and rims back regardless. His stupidity will cost him a few wheel studs. Hell, maybe even a set of drums and shoes if we can't get the saw to the studs the easy way.

Since I hate thieves and have nothing better to do, I print-screened the Craigslist ad for Ryan's truck. It was too big to fit in one picture, so I did three overlapping pics. Just in case Ryan doesn't print the ad before Marcus deletes it...

The law doesn't care if your asking for forgiveness breaking the law.
Like I said, in our eyes it is correct, but to go "steal" your stuff back, you are still stealing, and he can press charges and file reports, even if its your stuff!
Think about it.
If a POS can break into your house to rob you, and you beat his ***, he can sue you and take all you got.
How does that make sense?
Just traunicate(spelling) over what I'm talking about.
While its easier to ask forgiveness with friends, when it comes to the law, you always want to be the good guy.
so going and taking your stuff makes you look like a piece of **** too.
