I have a 8 lug D44 complete axle out of a 79 F250 gears #'s unknown (cause I have not counted them) came as a matched set with a D60 rear with a Detroit locker that is 4.10 or 3.54 ??? Figure the front it the same?
Do not really want to part out, but I know my local JY would have a set. Ck with Phillip at Peak Off Road they come up here all the time to it and would probably get you a set and they would then at least be in Spg.
You swapping the bronco to 8 lug so you can run 16.5 bead lock/runflat rims and those HUMVEE 36 or 37's tires. The rims will NOT work with out re centering them, they are too deep set to bolt on the front the inner edge will hit the tie rods.
Have you tried the SMORR forum classifieds for parts.......?
just getting done for the day..anyone who thinks selling vintage car parts online is easy should follow me around for a day... alan i hope you get your tire machine.. i am just getting the shop at the yard cleaned out and should be able to get to my tire machine soon..even if it is a old arm breaker it is better than the manpower one i have at the house..
Coffee's done brewing. We're gonna go up and get a tow dolly today that one of my friends bought from another one of my friends. On the way, we have to stop and get a water pump for my truck. It started making noise last night and when I checked it, the bearings were shot. So we're taking my friends brand new truck up to get the tow dolly. I don't want to push the old girl and get stranded somewhere. She did such a great job of getting me to Branson and back yesterday. She needs to be taken care of today.
I have a few sets of 16.5's setting around, 8 lug alum center line style with some worn 33's ?? What are you looking for style wise? The "list" has some older chrome or white spokes every so often.
Or are you looking for some aluminium modular, or some re centered H1's beadlock/runflats?
Well we have some new Mo chapter folks on the map, I hinted to them to stop by here also. Evening to all, it was like 55 here and it was off to a great start, then the bird broke, so no flying just spark chasin.....
Contrary to popular believe you should NOT see a spark and smell smoke in the cockpit, when you hit the starter button.
Uh oh, Rich. You do know once you let the smoke out of the wires it's a real pain to gather up and put back in, right?
I didn't get as much done as I wanted to today. It seemed like every ten minutes someone was bothering me with some insignificant nothing. I got the water pump swapped out on the dent and the carburetor seems to have smoothed out. I went up and picked up the tow dolly and got my parts sold. I got my carb rebuilding stuff and everything set up and ready to rebuild some tunnel ram carburetors tomorrow.
I hope to get something done tomorrow. This whole getting sidetracked all time thing has to stop. I want to have both carbs done and pre-set for the tunnel ram and possibly have an engine on the ground from a Chevy pick up tomorrow. Maybe even have the new engine sitting on the mounts bolted to the trans.
I have to have this engine completed by Monday afternoon and the next engine on the ground Tuesday morning. Wednesday the second engine has to be done and then the 460 dent can get some work done. I may have to pull the engine out of that one if the rear main is bad. The guy will be here Friday afternoon to pick up his carburetors.
