I hope its more than 2 weeks to give me a chance to rest a little & save some $. I estimate it will be 5k to finish the truck. I need a lot of stuff to put the truck back together. Chrome $800, seats $800, glass $300, Gauges refurbished 2-3 hundred, I still need my middle bed bins fabricated, the list goes on and on...

I'll be glad to reset your odometer to all zeros if you want to send it to me. I'm sure that the refurb place will do that for you anyway.
Take a well deserved breath Keith, when you see her in all her glory (red), Im sure you will get your second (or third, or twentyith) wind. Once its done the frustration will just be a distant memory. You are acomplishing something that very few people could or would even attempt. Keep your eye on the prize, because the prize is something very wonderfull, and your a special person for making it happen.
Ilya, Thanks for the offer but I want to keep the 50K + on the odometer. Jim, excellent points …. I will take your advice!! Bobby, I am going to have the body shop scuff and shoot the wheels. Gerald my body man, has a part time employee who worked at a sign company for 25 years and I plan on having him apply the decals at the barn.
I went back and looked at the pics of your truck on the lowboy trailer. It really is a BIG truck. You don't really realise it when you see it by itself. I think the styling of the roofline goes a long way to keep the truck looking sporty.
I went back to the shop today to help move it into the big spray bay because of the mechanical issues. All the workers really liked the truck and they recommended a base/coat clear coat paint combination not the single stage industrial imron. They went to the boss to voice their concerns. I spoke to the boss and he said it would come out better and agreed to do the base/clear coat(which it what he originally agreed to do). I went over with the painter what areas are to be red and black. I will be there the day its painted anyway.
Stopped by the shop this morning. They had it all masked up. The owner said it will at least have the red applied by friday and the truck should be ready by Monday. I thought about moving in until its finished!! LOL
Wow, thats a pretty quick turn around. It sounds like the shop is pretty excited to work on the truck. Thats very cool, should mean they should take extra pride in the job.
They got another double-decker bus in and need the bay. The owner's father was at the shop and he was running his hands over the sheet metal and found a spot on the door that had a wave in it. He showed it to his son and told him to have the guys go over it good. I still am a little worried that they might rush through the job. I will go back Friday morning and shoot some pics. Here is a bad pic from my phone of the buses they repaint.
I'm thinking if the owner's father is taking the time to check it out and go over it, there must be some kinda importance in the job to them. At least they caught it in time. It happens, human error. I'm betting the old man went on around the whole truck after that though!
I agree Dano. I went to the shop this morning to check on the progress. They shot all my bed parts black. They still need to be wet sanded and buffed. They are shooting the hood and front bumper this afternoon and Monday they will start on the body.
