i left mine in place and finished the externals with high temp resistant tape. It never gets hotter than 110 so its fine. i am getting some more for the #7 line as it gets to 130, needs to be less for me. love my laser temp gun.
"Before you try to adjust it, take the actuator off, the rod is pinned from the factory, you have to take the end off it and run a tap through it before adjusting it, or you'll break it. But do yourself a favor and get some gauges."
Take it off tonight and soak it with PB or such lube and let it set over night then drill and resoak tomorrow just in case then have at her

see i was answering about your unboosted question in the top of my quote lol i pry should have explained it better than just sayind in a matter of speaking, but like joe said it will still be driveable you just wont have boost (i guess kinda like havin a N/A again)
sorry i was sounding repetitive with the soaking that was my fault, but see i was on the same page as you i was sayin go for the drilling
haha sheesh sorry bro i didnt even see the drilling part. yeah im going to give it a shot and see. aside from the WG that joe posted, is there anywhere else to get one, like oem or?

hey wreck how did you make out with the waste gate? I was gonna do the samething with the valve covers, only difference is i think im gonna paint them red with "POWERED BY INTERNATIONAL" stenciled in black
they are undercoated with charcoal grey and then sticker was applied, then coated silver and sticker removed.
The wastegate needs more tuning but the drill method worked well, just dont go too deep or it will weaken the bolt and it may twist off.
speaking of the international stuff, i am going to have my dad recoat the stack and stencil similar international stuff on with the ceramic coatings. Should be sweet. But i will probably wait till i get back to the states, it is friggin stupid with shipping times.
Everything looks great! Can't wait to get mine in and whinin'. If you had to do the install again, what would be your order of operations/what would you get out of the way first?
first i moved the wiring for the glow plug controller over to the right and out of the way.
then i re routed all of the fuel lines as mine came up that side.
this allowed me the function while making the adjustments i needed to put the turbo on.
After this is done, id put in the new trans tube. what kind of trans do you have again?
Then bend the firewall. do the cuts like i showed in the pics.
Once all of this is knocked out, get ready because the truck will be down.
Remove the exhaust and install loosely the exhaust y collector, along with the crossover.
then the turbo should be able to fit in. Dont forget the never seize on the downpipe and up pipe slip connections.
if you use the riser from the oil pressure sender on the back of the block, drill out the hole larger to allow for more oil flow. more will come to me but hey, its all on fly!
