Well, my truck got totaled tonight, been driving it a little over a year since rebuilding it. Girl in a F150 ran a stop sign right in front of me and I T-boned her.
Everyone was fine. My bumper was folded up against the grille and pushed sideways. The driver's side of the '95 F150 I hit looked a lot worse. I was able to drive it home at least, but there is definitely frame damage.
IIRC that truck already had a salvage title correct? If so I'd start trying to find people in your area to swap the lift for stock suspension + cash, and any other goodies you have on there. Your tuner should also get you some good cash too. The insurance company is going to absolutely hammer the s*** out of you on the check they cut you if it was a slavage or rebuilt title.
You have thoughts on what is going to replace this one?
No idea. I'm hoping its not too bad and I can rebuild. I'll have to wait until I get the frame checked out and see what kind of check I'll be getting. Yes, it has a reconstructed title, but supposedly they are supposed to pay how much it would cost to replace.
I just went through an insurance claim with Progressive. I don't know who you are with, but I know progressive has to specifically cover things like your bumper, lift, tires, all that extra crap otherwise they only cover what a stock truck would be worth.
I'm not sure how they handle a reconstructed title, but I was always under the impression it was valued way less by the insurance company no matter how it actually looked, or drove.
I wish you the best of luck. That was a great looking truck! No matter what happens if you repair this truck or get another, I hope you stay in the super duty family and on these boards!
Man that sucks. I had the same thing happen to my F-150 but I hit a Nissan, they had to use the jaws of life to extract the passenger. If anything at all, HER insurance is liable for returning your truck to the condition it was in. I'd fight like hell to get it fixed properly- ef totaling it!!
