Gas Tank Selector
Here is a dumb question, on my 1966 F250 I have 2 gas tanks with a lever on the floor by the drivers door to switch to each tank there is not a label or indicator telling me which tank or where the lever should be pointing to for each tank. Does anyone know how this works? Thanks Bill for the information on my truck, interesting that it was factory originally red, I love the blue and white though.

Ford didn't offer an auxillary fuel tank until 1967, so whatever your truck has is from the aftermarket sector.

I'm New to the site and just inherited a pickup that was my first ride. I need to do some work on it so it can be my Son's first ride.
Kind-of funny - I was embarrased when i drove it in the late 70's but it's a cool ride to my son.
Could Someone Decipher my Warranty tag?

J decodes to 240 1V I-6 only.
The 129 net HP @ 4,000 RPM is only listed on the Warranty Plate.
The 150 (gross) HP is not listed anywhere...except on the air cleaner decal.
What the heck does ALL BLACK refer to?

1960/65 FoMoCo engines were painted black...
except for the valve covers.
The valve covers were painted specific colors as this was the method Ford used (1952/65) to ID what sizes the engines were.
Ford confusion: Truck valve covers were painted
different colors than car valve covers, even if the engine was the same size.
And, it gets worse, because some truck valve covers were painted the
same color as car valve covers, even though the engines were
different sizes.
1965 F100/350 352 = Black engine, Gold valve covers.
1965 Passenger Car 289 2V = Black engine, Gold valve covers.

What colour would the valve cover be for a '65 F100 240? Not sure if it's the original colour, but it's black (where there is paint left anyway).
