The nice thing, Is I know its never going to be a Barrett Jackson truck, I just want it to be a clean, respectable, off road truck.

710143:
71 = Los Angeles (SoCal) Ford District Sales Office, where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.
0143 = Domestic Special Order number: The truck was ordered special by the original purchaser, not bought "off the lot."
The COLOR code is missing - it would have been in between the wheelbase (WB) code and the Model code of F10.....the likely the reason for the special order - and means the truck was ordered & painted in a non-standard color.
-- It appears to me that your long box truck was also ordered with the optional side molding trim running the full length, however, those side mirrors are not '65 vintage.

1959 thru today: If the AXLE code begins with a letter: Limited Slip / If with a number: No Limited Slip.
If Limited Slip was ordered for 1959/67 F100's and some 1968 F100's, Ford usually installed the Dana 44.
You could not get a Ford 9" with Limited Slip in an F100 until mid-year 1968.
In addition, Ford also offered a Dana 60.2 in these trucks (Dana 60.3 1967/72)...with or without Limited Slip.

Thanks for keeping me straight, Bill !

If you'd spent 35 years in the Ford partsbiz, you wouldn't need notes...or the parts catalog, either...to decode this jazz.
6 = I-6 engine.
99 = Styleside Pickup.
10 = 100 Series.
28 = 128.8" (usually refered to as a 129") Wheelbase.
L = Left Hand Drive.
239105 = 1965 Numerical Sequence of Assembly (Serial Number) Oakville, Ontario Canada Assembly Plant.
A = 3800 thru 5600 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating range.
Look on the drivers side front body (A) pillar for the Warranty Plate, post all the codes from it. Once decoded, this will give you more info.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
You did not post the COLOR code, which would be listed between the Wheelbase and MODEL codes.
If there is no COLOR code, the truck was painted non standard color(s), making it a Domestic Special Order.
If the truck was not a special order, the DSO code would just be two digits (71).
And than I said I would get you my warranty code info. Thank you in advance for the time you spend decoding.

Thanks again!

You did just fine. Your hubby has his engine ID information mixed up.
Ford made a 351 Cleveland and a 351 Windsor V8, commonly referred to as the 335 small block engine series. Neither one were available in 1966.
There was only one 352 V8 and it belongs to the FE big block engine series. The FE engine series includes others such as the 360, 390 and 428 V8. Your VIN# and the Warranty Data Plate information indicate that your '66 was outfitted with the 352 V8.
