The AC has two vent holes on top the dash and two vents that open up on the kick panels of the truck.my goal is to keep the truck the way it is besides chrome bumpers.

This doesn't belong in this forum, since it's just for 1961/63 F100/250 2WD Uni's.

You also typed the above in the 1961/66 forum, I decoded it yesterday, adding the info that you omitted.

Yes I relize after I posted it that this thread was moved to a new subforum. I posted a 1966 f100 VIN decide back in 2010 in this thread so I used the same thread from back then. All good now.

^ The chart above has all sorts of CRAP info. Some of the codes are missing, some were decoded wrong. Rear axle codes don't define Ford 9" from Spicer/Dana 44/60.2/60.3, don't define Limited Slip from non Limited Slip. Body codes don't define Uni's from non Uni's.

Flareside: Ford; Stepside: Chevrolet/GMC. What the hell is a flushside? Styleside: Ford; Fleetside: Chevrolet/GMC

Welcome to FTE

Just to verify, here's the entire VIN decoded.

F10 = F100 2WD

J = 223 1V I-6.

R = San Jose CA Assembly Plant.

111981 = 1961, assembled November 1960.

1961/62: Warranty Plate riveted to the inside of the glove box door.

1963/79: Warranty Plate riveted to the left door face below the latch.

Smile Thanks for the information :)

Since I also picked up a 1962 ford f-100 with the 'fancy long bed'.
I bought it for parts, but it run's to well! So lots of questions may
be coming.

I just scored a Mercury unibody today and will be getting the information tomorrow and I hope you may be able to decode the vin plate for me ... I picked it up for FREE!!! Though she's kinda rough;engine seized, hood broken off, mouse den in the cab and unknown how it looks underneath and a few dents here and there, no tailgate either (I'll be looking for this later)I think she'll be a nice looker when I'm done.

Just bought a 64 F100 - VIN # format looks different

Just bought a 1964 F100 and everything matches the warranty plate, except most F100 ( had almost identical 64) the VIN begins with F10 and then next letter is for engine code.. Posting a photo of warranty tag, any ideas on the 4th digit 0 or O.. Engine appears to be a 292 with crossover pipe..
