Thumbs up New here.

I discovered this forum early this morning and have been excitedly reading and learning more about my '61 Unibody. I need to finish my garage with better information and will do so soon.
Using the information in this feed(?) I have decoded my VIN but have only partially figured out all the information on the plate on the inside of the glove compartment door, it gives the Model as F10C and have not seen anything about what this might mean, I also don't know what the 6 trailing numbers of the VIN mean (*****110594), any info would be greatly appreciated.

My VIN info:

F10CD110594

I believe the code translates as follows?

F10 = F100 2 wheel drive

C = 292 2

D = Dallas

and the 6 numbers that follow, I've no clue.

The plate on the glovebox door reads as follows:

Wheel base = 114

Color DM = D Indian Turquoise M Wimbledon or Corinthian White
I read Wimbledon White was no available until later?

Model F10C = I do not know what this means.

Trans A = Ford type 3.03 3 speed manual all synchromesh

Axle 11 = Ford 9" 3.70-1 non-limited slip 3300 pound capacity

Max GVW = 5000

Certified Net HP = 135 3800

Most of the information above no longer means a whole lot, other than satisfying my curiosity, because the pick-up's drive train has recently been replaced from the radiator to the rear end, but I'd sure like to know anyway. I couldn't afford an old 30's 3 window coupe, so I ended up with this beautiful old pick-up that my bank account will only let me slowly finish, but part's are readily available and I will have a blast playing with it.
Thanks, now I believe I will spend another few hours looking at everyone else's picture's od their pick-ups....

Welcome to FTE

Fixed it for you.

F10 = F100 2WD

110594 = 1961, assembled November 1960.

114" Wheelbase.

F10C = F100 2WD, 5,000 lbs. GVWR

A = Ford Medium Duty 3 Speed Manual Transmission (non syncro 1st gear).

5,000 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating.

Ford type 3.03 3 speed all syncro trans introduced in 1963, Wimbledon White introduced in 1964.

Consider joining FTE's AZ chapter. Bill W is the chapter leader, posts in the 1961/66 forum, lives in Tucson.

btw: I can afford a '32/34 coupe, have wanted a '33 for many years, but I haven't a ghost of a chance in fitting in it.

There's an all original '33 3 window coupe and a mostly original '33 or '34 fordor sedan at Early Ford Store in San Dimas.

I didn't look close at the sedan to see what year it is. Slant of the grille, one ('33) or two ('34) hood handles per side are the major differences.

B 5 axle code?

The '64 F 100-F 350 shop manual does not list this code New midyear option? Is this the rare spicer 60-2 instead of the spicer 44? Ratio?

Depends on...if it's an F100 (Spicer/Dana 60.2) or F250 (Spicer/Dana 60). "Locking" refers to Limited Slip.

Thanks for posting the axle chart NumberDummy. In this case, it is actually a 4X4 F100. Very clean survivor. Ford F 100 Base | eBay

In the ad comments the seller is claiming,
"This truck has a heaver frame than the F-100."

I wonder where/how he determined that?
