My mom has a '93 Pathfinder that my brother and I crashed 3 separate times when it was still new. After a trans rebuild last year, it has 235K on it. Now it's starting to fall apart, but she and that thing have a bond.
On a more exciting note, I just sold my '95 GMC Sonomna 2.2L extended cab with 137K on it to buy my '04 Lariat SCrew.
My fiance's 94 toyota corolla has 301,500 miles on it as we speak! What has been done:

I was the proud owner of a 1981 Lincoln town car 2 dr. My old man bought this car new at the end of 1980 and he gave it to me in 1990 w/ 430,000 mi. The car had the orig 302 throttle body engine and it did burn oil but was never rebuilt. Tranny was rebuilt at 250,000 due to slipping. The entire car was repainted in the factory metallic blue and had a new coach roof. The car ran well when I sold it, the buyer was aware of the mileage and walked away happy, I walked away w/ $2500 bucks! Great car with lots of great memories.
My friends dad has a 1991 Ford F-150 Has a 5.8L in it. And it has 580 000 kms. Second motor and second transmission. I'd say he got his money out of that...
I got a cousin that has a 1988 Chevy half ton pickup with the 6.2 diesel motor in it and it has 923,000 miles on it and nothing has been done to it, it just blew the fuel pump and they don't know if they should put a new one in or park it. We have a 1983 Chevy full size van with the 6.2 diesel in it and it has 260,000 on it and still going strong with nothing major done to it, we just replaced the oringinal starter.
Lafarge has a bunch of 7.3 PSD with over 900 000 km on them. Lararge has a 6.9L with 1.175 million KMs on it. Kimberly Clarke has a bunch of 7.3 PSD with 800 000 km on them.
Last I saw the record was held by a 1963 VW beetle, had over 1,000,000 personal use miles. This of course doesn't include over the road trucks or anything like that, just private vehicles.
The record for highest milage on A car is Irv Gordon with his 66 Volvo P1800. The car (and Irv) now has 2 million miles on it and still counting. He still uses the car everyday. Volvo took the car back at 1 million miles, and restored it for Irv (in 1988). Volvo also gave Irv A new Volvo wagon. He still has both cars.
This info comes from the Volvo owners newsletter. Irv is also in the Guiness Book of Records.
