I have a 1977 Ford F-250 with 460,000 miles on the original engine and transmission. It has always been a work truck along with hauling a camper. Now I tow my 26 foot Airstream and use it for work. It tows fine and I love it. Yes, the paint is original and it ahs never been stored in a garage. Here are some pictures
DarkKnight, I think you are reading the tenths as the ones. the odometer in most chevy vehilces is 123,456.7 you've obviously read it wrong. BTW is it gas or diesel?
Somebody on here said that they had a 79 F350 4x4 with a 460 and it was original. Woops they didn't make one like that. My dad had a 79 F350 with a 400 that died at 479,658 miles. It actually still runs but we don't drive it. It has had two C6's one at 53,000 miles. It has had four rear ends and my dad towed machinery on it every day for years usually just under the maximum GVW. We have a bunch of big trucks and the one with the most miles is a 91 Volvo with an inline six cummins, I'm not sure of the displacement but it is a real workhorse. That truck has 1,637,818 miles as of this morning when he took off for Salt Lake City with a full load of mail.
my dad has an ol brown rusty truck he uses as his daily driver.
he bought in new in 83, it has a 6.9 diesel. the truck is 2wd it has 400,000 miles on it. at 182,000 he blew the first motor. he found another one at a junkyard that had around 70,000miles he bought it for a grand. he put that in and hasn't had one problem. the tranny has been rebuilt once also because the torque converter went out. hes always pullin and haulin with it. brakes are bad, steers like crap, and good thing its brown it doesn't show the rust as bad. he loves the truck and will drive it untill it won't move
at 6 million, that's 10,000 miles a week if the truck is a 92! or 2000 a day for a 5 day work week. or 33 hour days if he drove a constant 60 mph? Seems pretty impossible.
My 94 F1504x4 has over 225,000 miles on the original 302, and its never been apart. Not sure of the exact mileage, because I had 35-36" tires on since new. Last year I had to get a taxi ride in a mid-nineties Crown Vic. I asked the driver how many miles were on it he said "about 450,000" this was an ex-cop car.
got 270,000 on my 82 F-250 302 hasn't been touched but the tranny was replaced (idoit i bought it from put a C6 in place of the 4 speed). "New" F-150 has 150,000 302 lost oil preasure at 140,000 and took out mains and crank go figure
my company had a 94 F-350 crew cab auto 4x4 power stroke and we just sonl it and it had 850,900 miles on it and i had a chance to drive it and its still pretty nice
I owned a 93 ranger that my little brother owns now that has 240,000 mile on it and has never had the engine worked on once.
The thing runs like a champ thank god for Ford. Own a 97 f150 with a 140,000 miles on it and it also has never had any engine work. What would we do with out ford trucks.

I have a Chevy truck 97 model 1500 2wd.350 vortec witha a posi rearend.I know this is a ford site but I enjoy looking and reading about all trucks.Mine has 170,000 miles on the same engine and I did a compression test on it this past saturday and they were all within 3% of each other and the same pressure as when I did a test when the engine had 60,000 miles on it,I keep recordsof all of this for the condition of it.Ive got hedman headers, borla exhaust, throttlebody spacer, granatelli maf sensor, volant cool air intake, msd 6a ignition, msd blaster coil, march underdrive pulleys, and I did a throttlebody mod.In the 1/4 mile it runs 14.8s and 14.9s all nite.
a guy came to our place a while ago to pick up some animals.
He had a 95 Dodge dually 4x4 pulling a double deck stock trailer aprox 30' in length. His truck had about 1,100,000 kms on it. Or roughly 700,000 miles. All original motor. He had recently replaced the 5 spd tranny, Sheared the input shaft off when he got stuck in a hole in 4x4.
There are several Dodge/ Cummins in the loacal autotrader this week with 5-600,000 kms on them.
