My Dad's truck was a rollback wrecker and he hauled cars for a couple of insurance companies. He traveled out of state all the time and brought the cars back. That is how the miles were racked up. Of course the motor was rebuilt a couple of times. It was a Catepillar motor. The body still looks as good as new though. He also has a Ford F350 that was an '87 model in which he put a million plus on it. It also had a "Cat" in it (special order).

My dad just bought a truck off my uncle. It's a 78 F150 w/ a 300 6 and a 4 sp. As of now it has 300,230mi on it and doesn't smoke or nothing. It's the original engine, tranny, everything. This truck was abused too. My uncle runs a roofing company and he would use it as a work truck. I've heard stories of him pullin semis out of ditches, and pullin trailers so heavy they acually pushed the truck over a gaurd rail once cause it could'nt turn. That thing just will not die.

My Dad's 89' E-150 Van with a 300-6 has over 235,000 miles and starts and runs strong everyday. Only thing major ever done to it was the 5-spd. mazda trans in it smoked itself at 190,000. Other than that, the most reliable vehicle in our family.
I have a 1987 Plymouth Turismo with a 2.2 that has 175,000 and it runs good, has no 2nd gear in the auto anymore, but the motor runs pretty straight.

My Nissan 240SX SE has 0,426,643.7 miles on it. I've tried to tear it up. I,ve raced it. Drove 130 miles a day round trip to the job, averageing 80mph. Lost control in ice and ended up in a 20' ravine. No damage. Fell asleep at the wheel twice and drove into two ditches, no damage. Replaced brakes twice, alternator one time, and right/left tierod ends(pass. side broke at 65mph in
a hairpin curve.)
I swear this car just can't be killed. It has seen nothing but abuse since i've owned it. Would'nt think a second about getting
another one either.

Well this has nothing to do with Fords, but the ’58 VW bug my family drove when I was a kid turned the odometer over 7 times in the course of about 18 years so that is 700,000. Dad rebuilt that engine so many times, I have no idea. I learned basis automotive skills on that car helping dad. Mom still has it in the carport where I put it up on blocks for her over 10 years ago). I have a Datsun pickup with 312,000 miles on it and it still moves on its own power, when I drive it, which is rarely (once or twice a year). My Fords are still new by these standards, 128k miles on one and 228k miles on the other.
